Middlesbrough get their Championship campaign underway against Swansea City on Saturday, desperate to get off to a better start than last season.
Had the season started on 23rd September, Middlesbrough would've won their first six games and finished comfortably in the play-off positions. As it happened, Boro picked up just two points from their first seven games, dropping points to the likes of Millwall, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR and Blackburn, leaving themselves too much to do.
Swansea, too, will be looking for a much improved start to the campaign, having picked up three points from their first seven games last term, and will hope to stay well clear of relegation this time around.
The match will be televised live on Sky Sports+.
The Championship fixture will kick off at 12:30 on Saturday 10th August at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough have won their last four meetings with Swansea, and are unbeaten in their last six.
Boro lost just one of their last 12 Championship fixtures in the 2023/24 season.
Swansea haven't won an opening game of the season since 2020.
