Manchester United v Liverpool: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Liverpool are still in the running for a clean sweep of trophies in Jurgen Klopp's final season and they should get past FA Cup quarter-final opponents Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Merseysiders beat Chelsea in last month's EFL Cup final and the Reds are chasing three more major trophies to give departing manager Jurgen Klopp the perfect send-off.

They eased into the last eight of the Europa League on Thursday, thumping Sparta Prague 6-1 at Anfield, but rivals United would love to end their FA Cup run in Sunday's quarter-final at Old Trafford.

Liverpool to win from behind - 6/1

Liverpool's quadruple bid means the big games are coming thick and fast for the Reds, who may have to dig deep for an FA Cup quarter-final victory at Old Trafford.

United frustrated their rivals in December's goalless Premier League draw at Anfield, where Liverpool had 34 shots to their visitors' six.

The Reds had won four of their previous five league meetings with the Red Devils by margins of 7-0, 4-0, 5-0 and 4-2, so it is easy to see why they are hot favourites for victory in 90 minutes on Sunday.

Klopp is still coping without several influential injury absentees including goalkeeper Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota, while Mohamed Salah made his first club start since New Year's Day in this week's rout of Sparta Prague.

United have struggled for consistency all season long but they have scored the first goal in ten of their last 11 matches in all competitions, including this month's 3-1 derby defeat at Manchester City.

Marcus Rashford's spectacular strike gave them the lead in the eighth minute, but conceding early does not seem to unsettle comeback kings Liverpool, who look a good bet to win from behind.

The Reds have scored 66 percent of their Premier League goals in the second half of matches and they battled back for a draw with City at Anfield last weekend despite John Stones' 23rd-minute opener.

Given their injuries and European commitments, it would be no surprise if Klopp's men need time to get into their rhythm at Old Trafford.

Their attacking unit never lost its swagger when Salah was sidelined and seven of their ten FA Cup goals this season have come after the break, so United will not be sitting comfortably even if they make another fast start.

Mohamed Salah over 0.5 assists - 10/3

Liverpool have been understandably cautious about rushing star man Salah back from his hamstring injury.

He was being considered for selection for the EFL Cup final on 25th February, but had to wait until Thursday to return to the starting line-up, marking the occasion with a 10th-minute goal and a hat-trick of assists against Prague.

That took Salah's tally of assists this season to 12 in 26 starts in all competitions and he looks a nice price to set up a goal on Sunday.

The fine form of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz has eased the goalscoring burden on the Egyptian and Liverpool's midfield is also bristling with attacking intent.

Salah has laid on five goals for team-mates in his last 10 league appearances, including two matches against Manchester City, and he may well showcase his creative talent at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof to be booked - 11/2

Sunday's team selection will be interesting as Liverpool's exciting youngsters hope for more opportunities and United boss Erik ten Hag weighs up his limited defensive options.

Left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia remain sidelined, so Victor Lindelof may have to deputise in that position, as he did in the 2-0 league win over Everton last time out.

Lindelof, more comfortable at centre-back, could face a difficult afternoon if Salah is unleashed down Liverpool's right flank and the Swede is well worth a bet to be booked.

United left-back Shaw was cautioned in this season's stalemate at Anfield, where right-back Diogo Dalot was sent off for two bookable offences late on, while Lindelof was shown a yellow card at Nottingham Forest in the previous round of the FA Cup.
