Manchester United v Crystal Palace: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Manchester United have enjoyed the novelty of back-to-back away wins over the last few days but boss Ruben Amorim will be wary of his team running out of gas on their return to Old Trafford.

Trips to London to take on Fulham in the Premier League and Bucharest to take on FCSB in the UEFA Europa League will take their toll at this stage of the season, and improving Crystal Palace will hope to use the hosts' taxing itinerary to their advantage.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace betting tips and predictions

Draw No Bet - Crystal Palace - 7/4

Mid-table sides Manchester United and Crystal Palace meet at Old Trafford in a fixture which the Eagles have come to enjoy.

Once upon a time, when Sir Alex Ferguson ruled the roost, there were only slim pickings to be extracted from games against the all-conquering Red Devils.

However, the Eagles have won on three of their most recent five Premier League visits to Old Trafford and did the double over United last term.

Earlier this season the teams drew 0-0 at Selhurst Park which means United have not managed a single goal against the South London club in the last three fixtures between the two.

Suddenly, this is a fixture that looks as competitive and well-balanced as the league table implies - United have gone into the weekend in 12th, Palace 13th - and the visitors have to fancy they can get something from this journey north.

Certainly Palace's away form suggests they can.

The Eagles are unbeaten on their travels since October and their 13-point haul (from five games) since the start of December is the most won on the road of any team since that point.

They will have been disappointed to have lost 2-1 at home to Brentford last week which undid some of their recent good work.

But they are a good team, an improving team, with pace to burn on the counter in away games, and while they have had a week to learn from mistakes against Brentford, United have barely had time to sit still, and that also has to be the visitors' advantage.

Complaints about work-load are pouring in from managers and Ruben Amorim has good grounds to be irked by a schedule which saw his side travel to Fulham on Sunday, Romania on Thursday and now back to Manchester for a third game in a week and seventh in 21 days. It is Palace's fifth over the same period.

It is not as though United are convincing at the moment anyway and Palace look more than capable of getting something from the trip that no longer looks daunting.

Daniel Munoz Over 0.5 Shots on Target - 9/4

Palace boss Oliver Glasner has pinned his faith in a settled back five who have formed a solid defensive base over recent weeks.

But they aren't all about defending with his wing-backs in the system encouraged to offer help and carry a threat further forward.

And certainly Daniel Munoz has delivered that brief during his second season in England.

Munoz has been let off the leash since Glasner arrived at Selhurst Park almost a year ago.

This term the Colombian has scored two goals, also providing two assists, and will have a dig. If we know anything about United it's that they cough up chances.

Munoz is 9/4 to have at least one shot on target and that's a fair side bet to consider.

Corners Race to 3 - Crystal Palace - 5/4

Manchester United have got a real reputation as slow starters and that can manifest itself in the corner markets.

United have not found the net in the first half of 17 of their 23 Premier League matches and seem to do their best work when panic sets in.

Equally, they don't tend to win that many home corners - 5.1 per game; 10 teams average more - and haven't won a single first-half corner in three of their last four matches.

Palace can surprise them early, have a go and win the race to three corners.
