With a new manager inbound at Old Trafford, Manchester United will look to make an impression when they host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils sacked Erik ten Hag on Monday after last weekend's 2-1 defeat to West Ham and they have handed Ruben Amorim the chance to coach at Old Trafford until June 2027.

The Sporting Lisbon coach will not move to Manchester until November 11th, meaning interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will be given the task of trying to get a result against Chelsea.

The Blues sit fifth in the table on 17 points, six points ahead of the Red Devils, who occupy 14th place.

Amorim may turn to fellow countryman Bruno Fernandes in the early stages and the United playmaker should be able to shine on Sunday.

Fernandes scored twice in the 5-2 win over Leicester in the EFL Cup in midweek, his first goal for club or country since September.

The former Sporting player may go close again, having registered nine shots on target in 14 games this season.

Fernandes leads the way in the assist rankings this season for United, picking up five in 14 appearances and he should be able to play with freedom under Van Nistelrooy.
