Arsenal slipped to second in the table after Manchester City's 4-0 win at Fulham but can regain top spot by beating Manchester United on Sunday.
With just one league win at Old Trafford since 2006, the Gunners have a miserable record at the ground. However, recently at least, so do the Red Devils and another defeat would see them falling to a record-equalling ninth home defeat of the season.
Erik ten Hag's side were last seen losing 4-0 at Crystal Palace on Monday, their 13th league defeat of the campaign and 18th in all competitions.
The Dutchman's future appears uncertain and he could depart, even if his side wins this month's FA Cup final against the Citizens.
Arsenal have more immediate goals and after City's stunning display at Craven Cottage, they need to ensure they do not lose any further ground.
Arsenal to win and over 3.5 goals @ 11/8
It is hard to quantify how, but United can surely only be better on Sunday than they were at Selhurst Park.
They really struggled against the Eagles and Ten Hag stated after the defeat that whatever he and his staff had told his players to do, they did the opposite.
He will be hoping for more harmony in his team's penultimate home match of the season - they are still to host Newcastle on Wednesday - and may seek solace in Mikel Arteta's progress after his own early issues at Arsenal.
Since then, the Spaniard has transformed his side and they are aiming for a club-record 27th win in a 38-game season.
They won September's reverse fixture 3-1 and their run of eight unbeaten on the road hints that they could be in business again.
The key to their success has been their defensive prowess. They have kept 10 clean sheets away from home but an 11th may not follow here, although there is still a case for the away win.
United fans will take encouragement from the fact that Arsenal have lost their final league away fixture in three of the last four seasons. However, that may show how far their side has fallen and, having scored three goals or more in 10 of their Premier League games since the turn of the year, the Gunners can dominate at Old Trafford.
Leandro Trossard anytime goalscorer @ 6/4
Palace's wide players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze were vital to them undoing the United rearguard and Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, who faces a fitness test, and Leandro Trossard could have a similar impact.
Saka has been sensational again this season but so has Trossard, moving ahead of the out-of-form Gabriel Martinelli and has scored in three of his last four starts.
The 29-year-old now has 11 league goals for the season, 16 in all competitions, and his ability to play off both his left and right feet makes him a nightmare for defenders.
Trossard's January 2023 signing from Brighton has proved inspired and he could show his worth again at Old Trafford.
Jonny Evans to be booked @ 3/1
Jonny Evans was signed by United in the summer mainly as a potential emergency option, but he has been required quite often this season, making 30 appearances in all competitions.
The Northern Irishman was parachuted back in at Palace but did not look anywhere near fully recovered from his recent muscle injury.
Needs must, though, and he is likely to play again on Sunday against Arsenal, the club against whom he has been booked a career-high seven times.
The visitors' speed in attack is expected to cause him issues and the Northern Irishman could be in line for a third league caution of the season.
