Tottenham v Manchester City Bet Builder

Over 3 Goals - 6/5
Phil Foden to Score Anytime - 2/1
Brennan Johnson - Over 1.5 Shots - 5/4

Bet Builder - 7/1

Over 3 Goals - 6/5

Manchester City have lost their last five away matches against Tottenham without scoring a goal, although Spurs enjoyed some good fortune during that extraordinary run of clean sheets.

The Citizens racked up 84 shots in those five games, missing two penalties, and it is hard to see them misfiring on their latest visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou takes a far more attacking approach than his predecessors and the teams produced a thrilling 3-3 draw in December's Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium.

Heung-Min Son scored at both ends in the first nine minutes of that game and, while Tottenham's leading marksman is on international duty at the Asian Cup, Over 3 Goals is still an appealing bet.

Spurs striker Richarlison is in decent goalscoring form and Timo Werner made his debut in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Manchester United last time out.

Six of Tottenham's 10 league games against top-half teams this season have featured over 3.5 goals and another three had exactly three goals so Friday's cup clash with the Citizens could be a cracker.

Phil Foden to Score Anytime - 2/1

Like Spurs, Manchester City are expected to be missing their leading goalscorer as Erling Haaland is still recovering from a foot injury.

However, the visitors still have plenty of firepower with Julian Alvarez leading the line and the fit-again Kevin De Bruyne teeing up the likes of Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden.

England international Foden scored twice in City's 5-0 romp against second-tier Huddersfield in the third round and he looks a good bet to find the net in north London.

The winger has scored 10 goals in 23 starts for the Citizens in all competitions in 2023/24 and has shown plenty of attacking intent in recent weeks.

Foden has fired in 13 shots in his last two Premier League away games at Everton and Newcastle and he is capable of adding to his goal tally against Spurs.

Brennan Johnson - Over 1.5 Shots - 5/4

Another wide player to back in Friday's Bet Builder is Tottenham's Brennan Johnson, who looks a big price to have two or more shots against City.

The Welsh winger has had 14 attempts at goal in his last five league outings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and had two shots in December's draw at the Etihad and this month's 2-2 at Old Trafford.

Johnson also registered three efforts at goal in 63 minutes at Arsenal in September and he was unfortunate not to find the net against Burnley in the third round, hitting the target with four of his six shots.

Tottenham team news

Heung-Min Son, Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma are away on international duty, but James Maddison could return to the squad after almost three months on the sidelines.

Manor Solomon is also in contention, but Ben Davies, Giovani Lo Celso, Dane Scarlett and Alejo Veliz are injured.

Manchester City team news

Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji are definitely ruled out for the Citizens, but John Stones is in contention to feature.

Stefan Ortega is likely to start in goal after Ederson was injured in the recent Premier League win at Newcastle, although the Brazilian has recovered to be available.

Tottenham v Manchester City stats

Both teams have scored in nine of Tottenham's 10 Premier League games against fellow top-half clubs this season.

Manchester City have lost their last five away matches against Spurs to nil.
