Lyon make their return to European competition by hosting Greek outfit Olympiacos in their opening game in the new-look UEFA Europa League.
Olympiacos ended last season on a high, defeating Fiorentina after extra-time to win the UEFA Conference League final in Athens, thus becoming the first Greek side to land a major European trophy.
Lyon, sixth in Ligue 1 last season, have endured some lean times of late and are not the force they once were, but manager Joe Montemurro will be eyeing a decent run in Europe this term.
The game between Lyon and Olympiacos is being shown live on TNT Sports Extra in the UK.
The UEFA Europa League clash between Lyon and Olympiacos kicks off at 20:00 on Thursday 26th September and will be played at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon.
Lyon have made a poor start domestically, winning just one of their five Ligue 1 games so far to sit in 14th spot. They were most recently edged out 3-2 at home by Marseille despite the visitors having a man sent off after only five minutes.
Olympiacos are third in the Greek top tier after five games. They were beaten 2-1 by Aris on Saturday.
These sides have met four times in the UEFA Champions League before, with Lyon dominating by winning three of those, although the most recent clash was in the 2005/06 season.

Lyon don't appear to have any injury worries going into this game. Former Premier League stars Nemanja Matic and Alexandre Lacazette are likely starters in midfield and up top respectively.
Manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has a concern over the fitness of centre-back Panagiotis Retsos for the trip to France and is set to remain without attacker Giorgos Masouras.
Ayoub El Kaabi was the hero in the UEFA Conference League final and scored again in the weekend loss at Aris. He should join Gelson Martins and Kristoffer Velde in a front trio.
