Luton Town vs Watford is perhaps one of the lesser known rivalries in the Championship, but with under 20 miles separating the two teams, it is sure to be a fierce battle when they meet at Kenilworth Road on Saturday lunchtime.
It has been a disappointing start to the season for Luton, who impressed many despite being relegated from the Premier League last term, with the Hatters having won only two of their opening nine league games to sit just a place and point above the relegation zone.
Watford started the season like a train, winning their opening five games across league and cup, but three defeats in their six Championship fixtures since has seen Tom Cleverley's side slip down to sixth.
Luton to win - 1/1
Luton were being touted by many to secure an instant return to the Premier League this season and while they may still come good, the current table makes for grim reading for Rob Edwards and his team.
The Hatters have lost five of their nine Championship games to date and will head into this fixture having picked up just one point from their three matches directly before the international break.
However, the break will have given Edwards and his players a chance to reset and they did win back-to-back games immediately after September's international shutdown, triumphing 1-0 at Millwall and beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on home soil.
A clash with local rivals Watford, in front of what is likely to be a raucous home crowd, should also help lift Luton and they could be facing the Hornets at the right time.
After coming flying out of the blocks at the start of the season, Watford have struggled of late, particularly on the road.
They have lost four games on the bounce in all competitions, including suffering heavy three-goal defeats in their last two Championship road fixtures at Norwich (4-1) and Preston (3-0).
Cleverley's side are still heading into this weekend sitting eight points and 15 places above Luton in the standings, but that is a gap the Hatters should be able to start closing with a victory on Saturday.
Ryan Andrews over 1.5 shots - 6/4
Watford academy product Ryan Andrews has established himself as a key member of the first-team squad over the last two seasons and he has started seven of the Hornets nine league games this term.
The 20-year-old has been primarily used as a wing-back and he has shown plenty of attacking intent and quality, scoring two goals and providing an assist since the start of the campaign.
Andrews has also not been afraid to shoot when presented with an opportunity, as he has had 13 efforts in the league already this season, including two in Watford's last away fixture - the 3-0 loss at Preston.
That game at Preston could act as a blueprint for this game, as Andrews is capable of having at least two shots, but his side may end up leaving Kenilworth Road empty handed.
Over 4.5 cards in the match - 4/6
Like most local rivalries, this is a clash that can occasionally overheat and there have been plenty of cards dished out by referees over recent meetings.
A total of 19 have been shown across the last three head-to-heads alone, a tally that includes the straight red card handed to former Luton defender Gabriel Osho in October 2022 and the two yellows picked up by ex-Watford ace Kiko Femenia in April 2021.
That all suggests that referee Stephen Martin could be in for a busy afternoon and he is certainly not afraid to go to his pocket, as in six games this season he has dished out 40 yellow cards, one of which became a red.
