Livingston v Celtic: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Livingston are running out of time in their battle against relegation, coming out of the international break with a ten-point gap to second-bottom Ross County.

They face a tough test as they host Celtic, who are locked in a tense title race with Rangers, on Sunday.

Livingston v Celtic betting tips and predictions

Celtic to win and both teams to score - 7/4

Celtic have failed to live up to the heights they reached last season under Ange Postecoglou, with Brendan Rodgers' side going into the international break just a point ahead of Rangers, who sported a game in hand.

The Bhoys take on their great rivals next weekend and will be hoping to go into that clash in fine form.

The visitors' defence has been an issue this term however, they have already dropped more points than they did in the entirety of the last campaign.

Both teams have found the net in five of their last six games and a repeat of that looks likely against a Livingston team that are fighting for their lives.

David Martindale's men have lost 19 of their 30 league games and realistically need a miracle to escape the drop into the second tier.

Livi did give Celtic a scare when they two teams met in the Scottish Cup earlier in the campaign, with two late goals taking the Hoops to a 4-2 victory in Glasgow.

The home side have scored in four of their last five outings and they will be hoping to take advantage of the visitors' injury issues, they have Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Luis Palma, Maik Nawrocki and Liam Scales missing for this one.

Celtic will also be without Rodgers, who is serving a one-game touchline ban.

Livingston should be able to get on the scoresheet, although the Bhoys quality should eventually tell.

Celtic have won the last seven meetings between these two teams and the top scorers in the division should have enough going forward to get the better of the team with the worst defensive record.

Livi are on the brink of relegation and look likely to move a step closer to their fate with another defeat here, although they are fancied to get on the scoresheet.

Matt O'Riley to score at any time - 6/4

Celtic's top scorer this season has been an unlikely one, with Kyogo Furuhashi struggling to replicate his strong season under Postecoglou last time around.

Matt O'Riley's 11 league goals is the most of any Bhoys player and he is fancied to get on the scoresheet at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

With McGregor and Hatate missing, O'Riley has had to step up alongside a less experienced midfield pair of Paulo Bernardo and Tomoki Iwata.

That means the Danish international has more attacking responsibility and he leads the team in shots and shots on target. Take the midfielder to get on the scoresheet in this matchup.

Cristian Montano to be shown a card - 11/4

Cristian Montano has played in a number of roles for Livingston this season but he may well be deployed at left back in this clash, with David Martindale likely to set up in a more defensive shape given the opposition.

The Colombian has been cautioned four times in seven starts this season and could face a tough task as he is likely to line up against the pacy Daizen Maeda or the tricky Nicolas Kuhn.

Given Montano is likely to do plenty of defending, he looks a tempting price to fall foul of the referee in this clash on what could be a long afternoon for the home team.
