Liverpool Women v Arsenal Women: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Arsenal Women will look to maintain their slim title hopes when they face Liverpool Women at the St Helens Stadium on Sunday in the Women's Super League.

The Gunners are third and nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, but they are level on points with fourth-placed Manchester United.

Liverpool are nine points behind their visitors, but two big wins in the Women's League Cup will have restored some confidence in Matt Beard's group.

Liverpool Women v Arsenal Women betting tips and predictions

Arsenal Women to win and both teams to score - 2/1

Despite some upheaval in October, Arsenal are ticking along nicely this season and they will go in search of their seventh consecutive victory in all competitions this weekend.

Jonas Eidevall resigned as the Gunners' boss in October after a slow start to the season saw them draw with both Manchester City and Everton.

Defeats to Bayern Munich and Chelsea were the final straw for Eidevall, but interim coach Renee Slegers has done a fine job in his place.

Slegers has yet to taste defeat since she stepped into the dugout, overseeing eight wins and one draw since being handed the job.

She has done herself no harm if she wants the job on a full-time basis, with the Gunners beating the likes of Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in recent weeks.

Liverpool have failed to score in their last three WSL matches, but in the League Cup they have scored 10 goals in two games.

That will have boosted their confidence in front of goal, and with Arsenal facing Bayern Munich in the Women's UEFA Champions League in midweek, they may have one eye on sterner challenges.

Both teams can find the net in this tie, but the Gunners should be far too strong on the road.

Liverpool have also lost all 11 home games they have played against Arsenal in the WSL.

Over 3.5 goals - 11/8

A high-scoring battle should be on the cards this weekend, especially when considering the recent form of both teams.

Liverpool's 10 League Cup goals have given them a lift, but defensively in the league, they have been exposed on numerous occasions.

Manchester United scored four against them earlier this month, while Chelsea beat them 3-0 in November.

Slegers' team have scored at least three goals in five of their last six games in all competitions, so they will relish the chance to face Beard's team in the WSL.

Over 10 corners - 5/4

With an exciting end-to-end game expected, it makes sense to consider the corner market this weekend.

Sleger may choose to rest players in the final stages with the clash with Bayern Munich in mind, so the preference is to avoid goalscorer markets.

Arsenal have registered a league-high 61 corners, which is impressive considering they are nine points behind Chelsea.

Sleger's team have completed 199 crosses in the WSL this season, only bettered by Aston Villa, so there is every chance there are double-digit corners in this weekend's meeting.
