The Women’s Super League (WSL) season gets underway this weekend and Liverpool Women’s first assignment is a home game against Leicester City Women.
Liverpool finished fourth last season, behind big guns Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal, and their challenge will be to try and close the gap on those Champions League places. Leicester ended up in 10th spot, 12 points clear of relegated Bristol City Women.

Liverpool signed Olivia Smith, Gemma Evans and Cornelia Kapocs over the summer and all three will be hoping to make their respective debuts.
Defender Grace Fisk won’t be involved after sustaining an ankle injury in training.
Leicester have been busy over the summer with the additions of Ruby Mace, Noemi Mouchon, Asmita Ale, Chantelle Swaby, Shana Chossenotte and Sari Kees, so there will be a few players making their first appearances for the club.
