New Liverpool boss Arne Slot will get his first chance to impress the fans in the early hours of Saturday morning as the Reds face Real Betis in a pre-season friendly in Pittsburgh.
The match will be shown live on LFCTV.
Liverpool and Real Betis will clash at 00:30 BST on Saturday 27th July, with the match taking place stateside at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Liverpool ended their final season under Jurgen Klopp with a four-match unbeaten streak, which included a 4-2 win over Spurs and an away draw against Aston Villa, to finish third in the Premier League.
Slot has already managed the Reds in a match, but that fixture was a behind-closed-doors friendly against Preston, so the Dutchman will be keen to impress the fans at the first opportunity, especially as Liverpool lost that warm-up 1-0.
Real Betis opened their pre-season with a 5-1 thrashing of Austria Salzburg and ended last season with a run of just one loss in eight matches, ultimately finishing a respectable seventh in La Liga.
That strong run includes a goalless draw with champions Real Madrid and experienced boss Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to push on and lead his side to a top-six finish this time around.
Liverpool and Betis have met before, facing each other twice in the Champions League group stage in 2005. Betis lost 2-1 in Seville before holding the Reds to a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Those dropped points were not enough to stop Liverpool topping the section though, which proved pivotal as they went on to win the entire competition in the most dramatic fashion, famously coming back from three goals down to take AC Milan to penalties in Istanbul and ultimately lift the Champions League trophy.

Slot has not added anybody to his squad so far, while Thiago, Joel Matip, and Adrian have all departed, so there may be a youthful look to Liverpool’s side in Pittsburgh, especially as many of those involved in international tournaments over the summer have not joined up with their teammates yet.
Copa America stars Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Alisson, and Alexis Mac Allister are absent, as are Euro 2024 participants Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Diogo Jota and Ibrahima Konate.
Youngsters Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark are injured but Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai have made their way to America following their sides’ early Euro exits and should feature alongside star man Mohamed Salah.
The aforementioned Adrian has joined Betis and will be looking forward to seeing his former teammates, with fellow former Premier League stars and new signings Romain Perraud, Diego Llorente and Marc Roca will be looking to impress Pellegrini.
There are a few absentees for Real as Isco is injured, Abde Ezzalzouli and Juan Miranda are at the Olympics with Morocco and Spain respectively, and German Pezzalla, Johnny Cardoso and Ayoze Perez have been given extended breaks following their Copa America and Euro 2024 involvement.
