Liverpool are on course for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 after an outstanding start to their European campaign, but they face in-form opponents on Tuesday.

Lille visit Anfield bidding to stretch their unbeaten run to 22 matches in all competitions and, like the Reds, they have caught the eye in the UEFA Champions League.

Arne Slot's Reds are the only club who have won all six of their games in the league stage of the competition, but Lille are also in the top eight, having picked up 13 points from their first six matches.

They lost their opening fixture 2-0 at Sporting, where England international Angel Gomes was sent off, but bounced back with surprise victories over Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Lille's hopes of causing another upset at Anfield have been hit by an injury crisis, but they should still be competitive.

The Premier League leaders have not been at their most fluent recently, drawing at home to Manchester United and away to Nottingham Forest and needing an injury-time brace from Darwin Nunez to seal a 2-0 win at Brentford on Saturday.

Slot's men were kept quiet by struggling Tottenham, who won 1-0 in this month's EFL Cup semi-final first leg, so backing Liverpool to win and under 3.5 goals looks a good bet on Tuesday.

Five of Lille's last six domestic fixtures featured under 2.5 goals and Liverpool have kept clean sheets in their last five UEFA Champions League victories - against Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, holders Real and Girona.

No goal before 23:00 - 5/6

Liverpool beat Leverkusen 4-0 and Real 2-0 in their last two UEFA Champions League fixtures at Anfield, but those games were goalless until the 61st and 52nd minutes respectively.

The Reds needed a 63rd-minute penalty from Mohamed Salah to claim a 1-0 win away to Girona on Matchday 6 and they have had to be patient in recent domestic fixtures too.

Their last three Premier League matches produced only one first-half goal, scored by Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood, while the only goal of their EFL Cup semi-final first leg at Spurs came in the 86th minute.

Liverpool took 29 minutes to break through against League Two Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield, so backing no goal to be scored before the clock hits 23:00 could prove profitable.

Lille are a solid side and a draw at Anfield would be a decent result given their lofty league position after the first six rounds of matches.

Manager Bruno Genesio may take a cautious approach in the early stages and Lille's last four games have had only two first-half goals, scored in the 29th and 40th minutes.

Curtis Jones to score at any time - 7/2

Liverpool are going strong in all three domestic competitions as well as the UEFA Champions League, so manager Slot will be keen to test his squad depth this week.

Curtis Jones, who came on for the final 10 minutes of the weekend win at Brentford, should return to the starting line-up and he is a tempting bet to score at any time.

Jones marked his England debut against Greece in November with a delightful back-heeled goal and he is also flourishing at club level.

He has scored in two of his last four league starts in an attacking midfield role, against Newcastle and Leicester, and has caused problems for some top class opponents in the UEFA Champions League.

Jones had seven shots in the home wins over Leverkusen and Real and should pose a threat to the Lille defence.
