Leicester v Queens Park Rangers: Tips, Predictions and Odds

Leicester's quest to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking continues on Saturday when they welcome relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers to the King Power Stadium.

Back-to-back defeats in the league has seen Leicester's lead at the top of the Championship cut to six points, but the table-toppers will be confident of picking up all three points against a QPR side that are outside of the drop zone only on goal difference.

The Hoops have increased their hopes of surviving with two wins a row, beating Bristol City and Rotherham, but this mini-revival may be halted in this difficult trip to the Foxes.

Leicester v Queens Park Rangers betting tips and predictions

Leicester to win and under 2.5 goals @ 13/5

Leicester's serene progress to the Championship title has been checked in recent weeks, with defeats to Middlesbrough and Leeds allowing both Leeds and Ipswich to reduce the deficit to the leaders to six points.

The Foxes did return to winning ways in midweek, beating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in the FA Cup fifth round, and that result should give them the confidence boost required to collect a crucial three points on Saturday.

Enzo Maresca's side have been fantastic at the King Power and they boast the second-best home record in the Championship, with their tally of 40 points bettered only by Leeds (43).

Leicester have scored in 16 of their 18 home matches in all competitions, while they have beaten QPR in the last two meetings in the East Midlands with an aggregate score of 6-1.

While a victory looks likely for the hosts, it may not come easy for them and they will have to battle hard to break down a QPR side that are fighting for their Championship status.

The Hoops have won two of their last three away fixtures, beating Blackburn and Bristol City, while they also picked up a point at free-scoring Ipswich in December when drawing 0-0.

Although QPR have struggled to score away from home, netting just 13 times, they have conceded a mere 20 times on the road - the joint-sixth best defensive record.

Expect QPR to make life difficult for the Foxes, who should have just enough to get over the line.

Isaac Hayden to be booked @ 8/5

QPR snapped up midfielder Isaac Hayden on loan from Newcastle in the January transfer window for the rest of the season and he has helped to add some steel in the middle of park, next to his old Magpies teammate Jack Colback.

The 28-year-old is no stranger to sticking his foot in and he has already been booked three times in five appearances since completing his temporary switch to Loftus Road.

With the Hoops expected to come under heavy, sustained pressure for large periods of this contest, the chances of Hayden having to make a few fouls looks likely and he may fall the wrong side of the referee again.

Chris Willock to have over 0.5 shots on target @ 9/4

Given QPR's attacking deficiencies this season, especially away from home, they may struggle to get on the scoresheet, but that doesn't mean they won't get a chance to test the Leicester goalkeeper.

One player that looks a value price to get a shot on target is Hoops winger Chris Willock, who notched his fourth Championship goal of the campaign in the 2-1 win over Rotherham last time out.

The 26-year-old has had a total of 33 attempts in the league, with 12 of those on target, and the fact he is playing with increased confidence suggests he can sting the palms of the keeper again.
