Brentford make the trip to the King Power Stadium for Friday’s Premier League offering looking to record a fourth straight away victory and consign Leicester to a sixth home defeat on the spin.
The Bees had failed to win any of their opening nine league games on the road but victories at Southampton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United have arrested that slump on their travels.
Thomas Frank’s side will be looking for more road success at Leicester, who have lost nine of their last 10 top-flight matches and suffered five straight defeats to nil on home soil.
Under 2.5 goals - 11/8
Brentford make the trip to Leicester as 21/20 favourites to make it four successive away league victories and they will be buoyed by the fact that they have conceded only once in their last four road trips.
On paper, at least, it looks like a gilt-edged opportunity against a Leicester side that sit second bottom and two points adrift of safety following a run of nine defeats in 10.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have lost five straight games at home without scoring and a lack of attacking options has given the former Manchester United striker a lot of cause for concern.
However, the Foxes were set up pretty well in their latest 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal, who were frustrated for large periods and took until the 81st minute to make their breakthrough from an unlikely source in Mikel Merino.
But Leicester posed very few problems for the Gunners, with the Foxes managing only six shots and hitting the target just twice.
That was a fourth successive 2-0 loss at home for Leicester, following earlier reverses to Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Fulham, and there is still too much reliance on the ageing legs of 38-year-old Jamie Vardy.
So, with an obvious lack of attacking options, Leicester have no choice but to stay resolute and play for the odd chance on the counter-attack, something which suggests this may be low-scoring.
Leicester have failed to score in seven of their last 10 league games and their last four matches at home have seen under 2.5 goals.
Brentford have also seen two or fewer goals scored in three of their last four matches and Van Nistelrooy will be well aware that if he tries to take the game to the Bees they are likely to be picked off.
Caleb Okoli to be shown a card - 12/5
Former Atalanta centre-back Caleb Okoli has shored up Leicester defensively since getting his chance at the heart of their defence but his physical approach could get him in trouble with referee Tony Harrington.
Okoli, who got his opportunity once Jannik Vestergaard got injured, has picked up four cards in 19 appearances and he was fortunate not to receive another booking in last week’s 2-0 loss at home to Arsenal.
The 23-year-old committed three fouls and a Brentford attack featuring the pace and power of Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo is going to ask serious questions of him.
Wilfred Ndidi to have a shot on target - 7/4
Wilfred Ndidi’s return from injury is a real lift for Leicester and, while the combative midfielder is more renowned for his defensive exploits, he could have a shot on target against Brentford.
Ndidi gets a bit more licence to roam playing alongside Boubakary Soumare and he had two shots against Arsenal last time out, hitting the target once.
That means Ndidi has had seven shots on target in just 16 league appearances this season and Leicester may be restricted to speculative chances from distance given their toothless nature.
