Leeds United v Millwall: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Securing a return to the Premier League is the main priority for Leeds United, who were 2-0 winners at Coventry City on Wednesday and who have established a five-point advantage over second-placed Burnley and third-placed Sheffield United.

But they would like to stay in the FA Cup for as long as possible and have landed what seems like a decent draw in the round of 32.

The Lions are 14th in the Championship, only four points adrift of the top six, and have not given up hope of reaching the play-offs.

They began their FA Cup adventure with a 3-0 triumph at home to National League Dagenham & Redbridge, but are facing a much tougher assignment this weekend.

Leeds United v Millwall betting tips and predictions

Leeds -1.5 on Asian handicap - 13/10

Leeds were below their best when winning 1-0 at home to League Two Harrogate Town in the FA Cup third round, but they can raise their level against Millwall and run out comfortable winners.

Daniel Farke’s side are available at 13/10 to win by a margin of at least two goals and that looks tempting given their general excellence on home soil.

Of Leeds’ 18 Elland Road fixtures this season they have been victorious on 14 occasions and 12 of those wins have been by more than one goal.

Farke is expected to make a few changes for a match which comes just three days before a key Championship fixture away to Watford, but he has a strong squad with several fringe players eager to seize their opportunity.

Lions manager Alex Neil might also consider refreshing his side as he looks ahead to Wednesday’s fixture away to Plymouth Argyle.

However, Neil’s options are limited by several injuries and the ineligibility of January signings Tristan Crama and Aaron Connolly, who made FA Cup appearances for Exeter City and Sunderland respectively at an earlier stage of the competition.

Crama and Connolly have quickly established themselves as key players for the Londoners and made the starting line-up for recent wins away at Luton Town (1-0) and Portsmouth (1-0), as well as at home to QPR (2-1).

Millwall’s confidence will have been boosted by their winning run, but they look threadbare for the trip to West Yorkshire and may struggle to avoid a heavy defeat.

Mateo Joseph to score any time - 2/1

Leeds have an embarrassment of riches in attack and are likely to involve Mateo Joseph, Largie Ramazani and Willy Gnonto, who came off the bench in Wednesday's 2-0 triumph at Coventry.

Of the trio, Joseph could pose the biggest threat to a depleted visiting defence missing injured right-backs Danny McNamara and Ryan Leonard and ineligible centre-back Crama.

Joseph has netted just three league goals this season, which is understandable because he has made only 11 Championship starts.

However, he has bagged five goals in five appearances for Spain’s Under-21’s and looks a solid 2/1 wager to notch against the Lions.

George Saville to be carded - 9/4

Matches between Leeds and Millwall are usually keenly contested and one of the players most looking forward to the physical battle will be Lions midfielder George Saville.

The robust 31-year-old has been booked three times in his last six Championship appearances and looks a tempting 9/4 shot for another caution.
