Early season pacesetters Portsmouth remain top of League One and favourites for promotion, after they came from behind to beat Lincoln City 2-1 courtesy of goals from Paddy Lane and former Wales Under-21 defender Regan Poole.

Bolton Wanderers remain second favourites for promotion after they overcame Gethin Jones' red card to earn a 1-1 draw at home to a Peterborough side who had 26 shots on goal.

An early Ruben Rodrigues strike and two late penalties from Cameron Brannagan helped Oxford beat Exeter to stay in second position, while Stevenage stretched their unbeaten run to five with a routine 3-0 win at bottom club Cheltenham.

Elsewhere, Barnsley's 2-1 win at Northampton propelled them into fifth place, while pre-season favourites Derby moved up to 9th as James Collins bagged a brace in a 2-0 win at Carlisle.
