Early season pacesetters Portsmouth remain top of League One, and favourites for promotion, after they came from behind to beat 10-man Wigan courtesy of goals from Paddy Lane and former Wales Under-21 defender Regan Poole.
Bolton Wanderers remain second favourites for promotion after they overcame a tricky and high flying Port Vale side 1-0 at Vale Park in a top of the table clash, whilst Oxford United fought back from a one goal deficit to overcome fellow promotion hopefuls Stevenage.
Elsewhere, Northampton managed to end their drought of three straight defeats with an impressive performance away to Exeter City, with the 2-0 score line flattering Exeter to an extent.
Barnsley's Devante Cole remains three clear of the chasing pack as he leads the League One goalscoring charts with nine goals in ten games.
Dion Charles, Jamie Reid and Charlie Wyke all have six goals to their name so far this season.
