Lazio were thumped 6-0 by Inter Milan in their last Serie A home match and they face another tough test against in-form leaders Atalanta on Saturday.
Atalanta to win 2-1 - 17/2
Atalanta have won all 11 of their Serie A fixtures since the start of October and they are aiming to sign off from a memorable 2024 with yet another victory at Lazio.
The boys from Bergamo won last season's UEFA Europa League, inflicting a sole defeat of the campaign on German champions Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
This term Atalanta have emerged as surprise title contenders in Italy, topping the table at Christmas ahead of Napoli and Inter Milan.
Gian Piero Gasperini's men are looking forward to an exciting second half of the season as they are also going well in the UEFA Champions League.
They are missing injured top goalscorer Mateo Retegui for the trip to Lazio, which is a blow given that the Italy striker has scored six goals in seven Serie A away starts.
However, Gasperini has the squad depth and tactical flexibility to overcome Retegui's absence and a 2-1 Atalanta win is worth chancing in the correct score market.
They have had to work hard for their last three league victories, scoring decisive late goals to see off AC Milan 2-1 and Empoli 3-2.
Between those two home successes, they won 1-0 at struggling Cagliari, who had eight shots on target to Atalanta's two.
However, Saturday’s visitors should be encouraged by Lazio's struggles against the stronger teams in the division this season.
Nine of Lazio’s 11 league wins have come against teams in the bottom half at Christmas and they were hammered 6-0 by champions Inter Milan in their last home match.
Lazio kept only one clean sheet in their first 11 league games this term and their defending in December has also been inconsistent.
They stood firm in an impressive 1-0 win at Napoli but lost 3-1 to Parma and 6-0 to Inter either side of that result and needed an 87th-minute goal to seal a 2-1 win at 10-man Lecce last time out.
Ademola Lookman to score at any time - 9/4
Retegui, the joint-leading scorer in Serie A, is absent for Atalanta so Ademola Lookman will shoulder more attacking responsibility.
Lookman scored a glorious hat-trick in last term's UEFA Europa League final and he continues to excel at Atalanta after a peripatetic start to his career.
He has scored nine goals in 12 Serie A starts this season, including a brace in November's 3-0 away win over title rivals Napoli.
Lookman averages 2.9 shots per game in the league and has been even more threatening in the UEFA Champions League, scoring in three of his last four outings.
One of those matches was the 3-2 defeat to European champions Real Madrid, in which he racked up eight shots – three of them on target – as the entire Real team mustered only 10 attempts.
Gustav Isaksen to have over 1.5 shots - 4/6
Lazio's Danish winger Gustav Isaksen scored a brilliant winner against Napoli this month and is aiming to take down another of the title contenders this weekend.
Isaksen should be backed to have at least two shots at goal on Saturday, as he has managed that feat in each of his last five league starts.
He had three shots against Cagliari, Parma and Napoli and two against Inter and Lecce so should get chances against an open Atalanta side.
The 23-year-old has not started a game in the UEFA Europa League this term but had three shots in 33 minutes as a substitute against Dynamo Kyiv and came off the bench to score against Twente.
Isaksen has also looked full of confidence in his recent international appearances for Denmark. He had nine shots in 173 minutes in his last three Nations League outings, scoring against Switzerland and European champions Spain.
