Kilmarnock v Celtic: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Celtic will confirm themselves as Scottish Premiership champions on Wednesday night if they can secure at least a point against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Brendan Rodgers' side took a monumental leap towards the title with a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Rangers at Celtic Park on Saturday.

With three vital points and the bragging rights in the bag, the Hoops hold a six-point lead over Gers, with just two games of the league campaign remaining.

Kilmarnock have caused Celtic problems at times this season, but with the Premiership title within touching distance, the visitors look capable of breezing past Killie in this one.

Kilmarnock v Celtic betting tips and predictions

Celtic to win and both teams to score - 7/4

As mentioned, Killie have been a thorn in Celtic's side this season, with the teams having already met four times across the Premiership and League Cup.

Impressively, Kilmarnock have lost just one of those games - being downed at Celtic Park back in October - and have managed to beat the Hoops in both their previous league meetings at Rugby Park this term.

The last encounter between the sides came in February and a 90th-minute David Watson goal saw Killie earn a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park.

It's clear Kilmarnock have been able to get up for the big games against the Hoops this season but it will be a big ask to go again on Wednesday night.

Killie can't move from their fourth position in the Premiership ladder and have only pride to play for.

Having scored in their last five fixtures against Celtic in all competitions, expect the hosts to get on the scoresheet at Rugby Park.

However, the Bhoys will be brimming with confidence after overcoming Rangers and are good value to claim the victory with both sides finding the back of the net.

Matt O'Riley anytime goalscorer - 15/8

English-born Denmark international Matt O'Riley has improved dramatically this season, becoming a key figure in the Celtic midfield.

The former Fulham and Milton Keynes Dons midfielder penned a new four-year deal with Celtic in September last year after only signing for the club in January 2022.

Clearly impressing the hierarchy at Celtic Park, O'Riley has not rested on his laurels and has kicked on in impressive fashion this season.

The 23-year-old is the club's leading goalscorer in the Premiership, with 15 goals in 35 starts.

Contributing 12 assists in that time, O'Riley has been earning plenty of plaudits for his efforts in Glasgow this term.

With three goals in his last four Premiership games against Kilmarnock, it would be little surprise to see the Denmark international get on the scoresheet again on Wednesday night.

If he were to score, it would be the third successive game O'Riley has done so for Celtic, after finding the back of the net against Hearts and Rangers in his last two games.

Daniel Armstrong to be booked - 21/10

With Celtic expected to have the majority of possession at Rugby Park, Daniel Armstrong is likely to have a busy night ahead of him in the midfield.

Having been shown nine yellow cards already this season in the Premiership, no Kilmarnock player has been booked more than Armstrong this term.

The 26-year-old has been cautioned in Killie's last two clashes against Celtic and it would not come as a shock to see the former Raith Rovers winger end up in the referee's notebook once again.
