Juventus will view last season as something of a missed opportunity and there is little doubt that a team who lost just five Serie A games should not have found themselves so far behind champions Inter.

Just one of those reverses - a 1-0 defeat to Udinese - came at the Allianz Stadium, and everyone at the club will know they need to be in closer attendance this time with Thiago Motta having taken the reins at the Turin outfit.

The Old Lady finished the season strongly and conceded just one goal in their final five league games and should be confident that they can extend that run into the new campaign, even if goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has left the club and Michele Di Gregorio looks set to take his palace between the posts.

Como, who finished runners-up to Parma in Serie B to gain promotion back to the top flight, lost just two of their final 10 away league games last term, but a trip to face the Old Lady is plainly a lot tougher than any visit they made last season.

Cesc Fabregas has been promoted from assistant manager after Osian Roberts moved upstairs, so it is a big test for the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder in his first dugout role, and he will be under no illusions about the scale of the task ahead to stay up.

Como are likely to be reminded of it on Monday and Juve should be expected to come through the game with a win and their clean sheet intact.

While Motta has rung a few changes since arriving at Juve, he still looks set to rely on Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic as his main man up front and loyalty should be rewarded with a goal in Monday's match.

Vlahovic scored 16 goals last season, having 106 efforts on goal, 35 of which were on target in 27 league starts, while he also netted in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta, scoring the only goal of the match.

He was unable to make his mark in three appearances for his country at the Euros in Germany, when a lot of pressure was put on his shoulders to help Serbia put on a strong show, but he should be grateful to be back in the domestic arena and he can get off the mark at the first attempt against the top-flight new boys.

Bremer to be booked - 3/1

Juventus are expected to dominate proceedings in their opening match - they have won their first league game of the campaign in seven of the last eight seasons - but there is still potential for defender Bremer to be in the thick of the action.

The Brazilian has attracted Liverpool’s attention this summer but is also on familiar terms with Serie A referees, having picked up nine bookings in the last campaign.

He has committed multiple fouls in eight of his last 13 outings for the Old Lady, so looks a big price at 3/1 to go into the book against Como on Monday.
