Betting has been suspended on Joao Pedro's next club as the Brighton forward nears a move to Chelsea.
David Ornstein of The Athletic took to 'X' to report that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Joao Pedro for a fee "in excess of £50m."
Pedro joined Brighton from Watford in May 2023 for a club-record £30m fee and was the club's joint top scorer in the Premier League this term with 10 goals.
Arsenal have previously been linked with the former Fluminense forward, while Newcastle had seen bids rejected in the summer transfer window, but it's Chelsea who look set to secure the Brazilian's signature.
It's yet to be seen as to where Pedro will fit in at Stamford Bridge, with an abundance of talented forwards already at the disposal of Enzo Maresca and the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens imminent.
