Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace are both at the wrong end of the Premier League table with wins having been hard to come by and the relegation rivals will be hoping to enhance their survival aspirations with victory at Portman Road.
The struggling duo have both amassed nine points from 13 games, with them sharing identical records with one win, six draws and six defeats.
However, recent evidence suggests that both sides are slowly but surely warming to the task and they will be targeting maximum points in Suffolk.
The Tractor Boys are yet to win from six attempts at home in the Premier League this season, while Palace are winless in six on the road, so something may have to give in Tuesday’s relegation scrap.
Draw - 12/5
There is an extremely long way to go in the Premier League season, but this is a fixture neither Ipswich nor Palace will want to lose as it could do serious damage to their survival hopes.
The season may only be 13 games in but it already seems that the current bottom six will be the sides scrapping for survival and the outcome of this contest could go a long way to deciding who is going to be in serious trouble.
Town and the Eagles have both won only one of their opening 13 outings and, while performances from the pair are improving, the results haven’t been there to match it.
Each of their victories came against Tottenham, highlighting their capabilities, but Ipswich are winless at home, while Palace are yet to make their mark on their travels.
However, the Tractor Boys have drawn four of their six home league games this season, two of which came against Aston Villa and Manchester United, and they are sure to be roared on by a passionate Portman Road crowd.
The Londoners, meanwhile, have shared the spoils in three of their six away games, taking points at Chelsea, Villa and Wolves, so it is easy to envisage this being a cagey contest.
A point apiece wouldn’t be the worst result, giving the pair something positive to build on, and it is unlikely to be a free-flowing contest given the current state of both teams in the standings.
Both sides are likely to be compact and will attempt to keep things tight, with a low-scoring contest playing into the hands of a draw. The pair have six stalemates apiece this season.
Liam Delap anytime goalscorer - 9/4
One shining light for Ipswich on their Premier League return has been the emergence of striker Liam Delap, who has netted six of the hosts’ 13 league goals this season.
Delap boasts plenty of pace and power and he has looked a natural in front of goal, something that makes him of interest to get on the scoresheet in this crunch clash with Palace.
The confident 21-year-old will be hoping to exploit a visitors' defence which have conceded at least twice in four of their six away league games and when in sight of goal he tends to unleash.
Delap has failed to score in his last two league matches, but he is almost certain to build on his six-goal tally sooner rather than later and he could stop the rot against fellow strugglers Palace.
Liam Delap to be shown a card - 15/4
While a goal could be on the horizon for Delap, a card could be too and the intensity in which the young forward plays out often results in plenty of fouls.
Only Joelinton of Newcastle and Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook have committed more fouls than Delap’s tally of 28 this season and that has resulted in three bookings in his last nine league starts.
This is a big game for both sides, resulting in a likely feisty affair, and the hungry 21-year-old will be relied upon to do plenty of pressing from the front.
All of which makes him a big price for a card at 15/4.
