Title hopefuls Inter Milan should be too good for Como at home in Serie A on Monday night.

Prior to Sunday's games in Italy, defending champions Inter were third in the table and they look very well positioned to stay the course in the Scudetto race once more.

Como, meanwhile, are down in 16th, just a point clear of the bottom three, as they continue to try and plot a survival route in the top flight in what is their first campaign at this level in 21 years.

Inter are big favourites at 1/4 to win Monday's clash but for better value, backing the hosts to claim victory without conceding may well be the way to go.

Inter are making a decent fist of defending their Italian title this season, with 10 wins from their 15 league games so far, while Simone Inzaghi's men have only lost once, also picking up four draws.

With Napoli and Atalanta among several teams enjoying fine campaigns, and Lazio, Fiorentina and Juventus all lurking dangerously just beneath them in the table, Inter know a win over Como is vital if they want to keep pace at the top just before Christmas.

They approach the game on a high, after a stunning 6-0 win at Lazio in their last league outing, while they followed up that big victory with a 2-0 Coppa Italia win over Udinese in midweek to move into the quarter-finals in that competition.

Their form points to a routine home success over a Como side that has won just three times this season, and only once away.

The visitors did secure an unexpected 2-0 home win over Roma last time out, but that was their first victory in nine games and that result is likely to prove to be the exception rather than the rule.

Como have conceded 28 goals in Serie A this term - only three teams have shipped more - and they have already lost five times in the top flight without getting on the scoresheet.

Inter, on the other hand, have managed a very respectable seven clean sheets this season, and they are likely to pick up another three points while earning a familiar defensive shutout on Monday evening.

Over 3.5 goals - 13/10

It could be an entertaining, goal-laden affair at the San Siro with the home side tipped to bag several more goals in a commanding victory.

Before Sunday's matches, Inter were the top-scorers in Serie A with 40 goals from their 15 games and they have hammered Lazio 6-0, Verona 5-0 and also seen off Parma 3-1 in their last three league outings.

All of those games would have comfortably paid out in the over 3.5 goals market and, at 13/10, that selection appeals again when Como visit.

Cesc Fabregas' side are struggling defensively, shipping at least two goals in three of their last five games, and up against a potent Inter forward line, they are set to be in for a tough evening.

Inter have plenty of firepower in the shape of Marcus Thuram, who is their top-scorer with 11 Serie A goals, while Lautaro Martinez has hit five this term and in-form midfielder Nicolo Barella has scored two in his last two appearances, to name just three.

Denzel Dumfries to score or assist - 7/5

Denzel Dumfries could also have featured on that run-down of dangerous players Como must try and shackle as he remains a key man for Inter out wide.

The attack-minded right-back can cause Como problems and the Netherlands international has scored three goals this season, while also weighing in with two assists.

He comes into Monday's game having scored and assisted in the 6-0 rout of Lazio in the most recent Serie A game and he could be in the mood to improve his personal stats.

The 28-year-old could benefit from what might be a weak spot for Como in this clash, too.

With Alberto Moreno and Marco Sala both expected to be ruled out for the visitors, Federico Barba could again be asked to fill in at left-back and Dumfries can exploit his direct opponent, who is more used to operating centrally, with his pace and trickery.
