Arsenal have lost ground in the early stages of the Premier League title race, suffering defeats in their last two away matches at Bournemouth and Newcastle.

The Gunners, missing inspirational captain Martin Odegaard due to injury, also conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 at home to leaders Liverpool, but they have made a solid start to their UEFA Champions League campaign.

They won their first two home fixtures in Europe, beating Paris St-Germain 2-0 and Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0, although they needed a brilliant penalty save from David Raya to earn a 0-0 draw away to Atalanta on matchday one.

Mikel Arteta's men return to Italy on Wednesday and their clash with Serie A champions Inter Milan is likely to be another tight affair.

Like Arsenal, Inter have not conceded a goal in their first three UEFA Champions League games, starting with an impressive 0-0 draw away to trophy favourites Manchester City.

The Nerazzurri eased to a 4-0 home win over Crvena Zvezda in their second game, but needed an injury-time goal from the in-form Marcus Thuram to earn a 1-0 win against Young Boys in Switzerland last time out.

Three of Inter's last four victories in all competitions were by a 1-0 scoreline and they also shared a 4-4 draw at home to Juventus in Serie A last month.

With goals expected to be scarce at San Siro, the draw looks a big runner and neither side would be too disappointed to extend their unbeaten starts in Europe with a stalemate.

Arsenal, missing their key creative influence Odegaard, have mustered only five shots on target in their last three league matches against Bournemouth, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Arteta is likely to take a cautious approach against a classy Inter side, so backing under 8.5 match shots on target looks a good bet in Milan.

The Gunners allowed only three attempts on target in their home wins over PSG and Shakhtar, while their stalemate against Atalanta featured only four saves from the two goalkeepers.

There was a modest total of eight shots on target in Inter's win against Young Boys, despite the fact that Simone Inzaghi's men were chasing a breakthrough until the 93rd minute.

Venezia, last weekend's visitors to San Siro, tested Inter keeper Yann Sommer only twice and Wednesday's fixture could be another game of few chances.

Arsenal have had disciplinary problems in the Premier League this season, receiving costly red cards in their games against Brighton, Man City and Bournemouth.

In the UEFA Champions League, however, the Gunners have picked up only three bookings in three matches and Inter have an identical record.

One player who stands out in the card markets is Inter's French defender Benjamin Pavard, who has been cautioned in his last two home appearances against Juventus and Venezia.

Pavard is likely to start on the right of Inter's back three, up against either the tricky Leandro Trossard or the pacy Gabriel Martinelli, so he is worth backing to pick up a fourth booking of the campaign.
