Hull v West Brom: Tips, Predictions and Odds

Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off in the Championship throws up an intriguing encounter as Hull City host West Bromwich Albion at MKM Stadium.

Two sides who find themselves firmly in the play0off picture this season, it’s a six-pointer to look forward to as the battle for fifth and sixth place in the table continues.

Hull vs West Brom betting tips and predictions

West Brom to win - 15/8

Hull and West Brom have been picking up momentum in recent weeks and it would be no surprise to see both teams make the playoffs this season.

The Baggies can put some distance between themselves and the Tigers on Saturday, with just one point separating the sides going into this clash this weekend.

West Brom have an impressive record against Hull, winning seven if the last eight meetings between the sides in the Championship.

Carlos Corberan’s side managed to secure a 3-1 win over Hull at The Hawthorns earlier this season and, while it will certainly be tougher at MKM Stadium, West Brom know they are the quality and the gameplan to head back to the West Midlands with the spoils.

Hull have been excellent on the road with four consecutive away wins catching the eye.

However, and more surprisingly, their home form has been a mixed bag with two wins and three defeats in their last five games at MKM Stadium.

Further reason why West Brom can be fancied to take a valuable three points here and strengthen their claim to finish in the top six this season.

Brandon Thomas-Asante anytime goalscorer - 11/4

West Brom’s leading goalscorer this season Brandon Thomas-Asante has been a standout performer for the Baggies.

The forward missed out on the 3-0 win at Plymouth Argyle last time out due to a slight hamstring issue but he is expected to return to feature at Hull.

That will have been a welcomed break for Thomas-Asante and he should be fresh to take on a Hull defence that has only kept one clean sheet in their last six home games in the Championship.

Thomas-Asante has the lot, with his pace, power and finishing ability set to cause a leaky Tigers’ defence issues on Saturday.

His recent injury scare might mean he plays a limited role at Hull and might even come off the bench for this crucial game.

Even if he plays a bit part, Thomas-Asante has the explosive game to make an impact from the moment he steps on the pitch and looks good value to take his Championship goal tally for the season into double figures.

Jean Seri to be carded - 3/1

With seven yellow cards in the league already this season, only Jacob Greaves has been booked more than Jean Seri this season.

Greaves has picked up nine yellow and one more would earn him a suspension so he might be reluctant to throw himself into a challenge this weekend.

Seri does not have that concern and, having also been booked when these sides met back in November, he is worth considering to receive another card on Saturday.

Expect West Brom to have possession for long spells of the contest and that might well frustrate Seri in the middle of the park.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, the 32-year-old Ivorian at 3/1 is good value to be in hot water with the officials once again and end up with his name in the book.
