Hoffenheim v Tottenham Hotspur: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Tottenham Hotspur need to pick themselves up from Sunday’s defeat at Everton when they head to Germany to face Bundesliga strugglers Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League.

Hoffenheim v Tottenham Hotspur betting tips and predictions

Tottenham Hotspur to win - 6/5

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou desperately needs some good news after seeing his team slip to 15th in the Premier League table, and his injury-hit squad should have enough to claim a UEFA Europa League win at Hoffenheim on Thursday.

Spurs have been hit with a host of injuries and need some strong cup performances to save their season, but while they have been unable to build on three opening UEFA Europa League wins, they would be in a great position to claim one of the eight automatic passages to the round of 16 with a win in Germany.

And with few personnel options, a strong Tottenham team should have enough to see off an opponent that has been dealing with their own issues of late.

Hoffenheim are fourth from bottom in the Bundesliga despite ending a nine-match winless run with a 3-1 success at fellow strugglers Holstein Kiel on Saturday and they have made little impression in Europe this season.

Christian Ilzer took the helm in November, but Hoffenheim have claimed just one win in their six UEFA Europa League games and that was against Dinamo Kyiv, who have a solitary point to their name.

They are 26th in the table and a point from a play-off place, but Hoffenheim have won just one of their last seven home games and they could struggle to keep Spurs at bay, having kept just two clean sheets in 13 league and cup home matches this term.

Richarlison to score at any time - 7/4

Tottenham’s injury issues have been well documented, but Dominic Solanke’s unavailability should provide a great opportunity for Richarlison to shine.

The Brazilian has had a difficult time since moving to north London, but he has forced his way back from injury while others have crowded the treatment room, so this is his chance to prove his worth to Postecoglou.

It seems likely he will start up front on Thursday and he did enough in a second-half substitute appearance at Everton on Sunday to suggest that he could come to his under-fire manager’s rescue.

Richarlison had three efforts on goal against the Toffees and was on hand to convert a fine Mikey Moore cross from close range for Spurs’ second goal.

That should be a big boost to his confidence and he can claim his second UEFA Europa League goal of the campaign after he netted the winner from the penalty spot in October’s 1-0 home win over AZ Alkmaar.

Pavel Kaderabek to be booked - 3/1

Hoffenheim’s Czech wing-back Pavel Kaderabek has been in and out of the starting line-up this season, but there looks a decent chance he could pick up a booking in Thursday’s clash.

He has yet to be cautioned in four UEFA Europa League appearances this season but he has had his fair share of disciplinary issues in the Bundesliga.

A yellow card when he played the final 13 minutes of their 5-0 loss at Bayern Munich in his last showing was the fourth he had picked up in five league appearances and there looks a strong chance he could end up in the book again on Thursday.
