Unbeaten in the last 15 meetings with Hearts, Rangers have been dominant in this fixture in recent years and it is no surprise to see them the 4/7 favourites to get their season off to a quick start.

However, the Gers are going through a summer of upheaval that has seen Connor Goldson, Ryan Kent, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Sam Lammers and Kemar Roofe all depart.

Eight new players have been brought in by manager Philippe Clement, who signed a contract extension until the summer of 2028 on Friday, and it could take a little time for the new faces to gel.

Rangers were full of goals last season, netting 87 times to trail only Celtic in that department, while they scored two or more in five of their last six league matches.

It's also worth noting that over 3.5 goals was successful in six of their last nine top-flight games in the 2023/24 campaign.

Hearts talisman Lawrence Shankland opened the scoring in the 3-3 draw against Rangers in May, but his habit of grabbing the final goal of a game makes him an attractive price to repeat this trick.

In the last four league games in which Hearts have scored, the Scotland striker has hit the last goal in three and it would be no surprise should he do this again.
