Championship outfit Preston North End will be on guard as they look to avoid an EFL Cup upset on their trip to face League Two side Harrogate Town.
Harrogate have already defeated a higher-tier outfit in the opening round, claiming the spoils at Lincoln City in a 2-1 win, the start of a three-match unbeaten run.
Preston also claimed a notable scalp last time, beating Sunderland 2-0 at home, while newly-appointed boss Paul Heckingbottom oversaw a victory against Luton Town on Saturday in his first game in charge.
Harrogate Town v Preston North End will be shown live in the UK on Sky Sports+.
The game between Harrogate Town and Preston North is scheduled for a 19:45 BST kick-off on Tuesday 27th August at the Exercise Stadium in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
This will be the first meeting of these clubs. Harrogate finished 13th in League Two last season, their best effort since coming up as National League play-off winners in 2019/20.
Manager Simon Weaver has been at the helm for 15 years, stabilising the Yorkshire outfit in the Football League after bringing them up for the first time in their history.
Preston have spent a decade in the Championship, battling both for promotion and to avoid relegation in that time.
Ryan Lowe left his post as manager following their opening-day defeat to Sheffield United and former Leeds United and Blades boss Heckingbottom is now in charge at Deepdale.
Weaver appears to have a full squad at his disposal, with no reported injury worries for the hosts. Sam Folarin has scored in his last three games, including in that EFL Cup win over Lincoln City earlier in the month.
Heckingbottom enjoyed a perfect start as Preston boss with Will Keane on the scoresheet in Saturday's win over Luton. Promising midfielder Sam Greenwood once more came on as a substitute in that contest and may have designs on a first start since the opening weekend of the season.
