Gustavo Hamer and Scott Parker claim top gongs at EFL Awards

Championship

Player of the Season - Gustavo Hamer

Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer has been named EFL Championship Player of the Season having registered nine goals and seven assists for the Blades in the second tier.

The creative midfielder has been a shining light for Chris Wilder's charges in a season which has ended in Sheffield United missing out on automatic promotion to the Premier League and having to settle for a place in the play-offs.

Young Player of the Season - Jobe Bellingham

19-year-old Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham has won the Championship Young Player of the Season award with the Black Cats ending the campaign in the play-off spots.

The England youth international has followed in the footsteps of his older brother Jude, with the Bellinghams the first siblings to both win the Championship Young Players of the Season gong.

Manager of the Season - Scott Parker

Burnley boss Scott Parker has been named Championship Manager of the Season with the Clarets having already achieved promotion to the Premier League and on the brink of clinching the title.

The former England international midfielder has now achieved promotion from the Championship as a manager on three occasions having previously steered Fulham and Bournemouth to the Premier League.

Championship Apprentice of the Season - Chris Rigg

Jobe Bellingham was not the only Sunderland youngster to be recognised at the 2025 EFL Awards, with teammate Chris Rigg awarded the Championship Apprentice of the Season award.

Dynamic midfielder Rigg has enjoyed a breakout campaign at the Stadium of Light and is now an England Under 19s international.

League One

League One Player of the Season - Richard Kone

Ivorian forward Richard Kone has been awarded the League One Player of the Season award following a terrific campaign for Wycombe.

Kone has recorded 21 goal contributions with the Chairboys narrowly missing out on automatic promotion to the Championship.

League One Young Player of the Season - Richard Kone

21-year-old secured a double at the 2025 EFL Awards after also landing the prize for League One's Young Player of the Season.

Wycombe supporters will be hoping star forward Kone can help inspire the club back to the Championship via the play-offs.

League One Manager of the Season - Chris Davies

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies has been named League One Manager of the Season after inspiring the Blues to the league title with a record points total.

Formerly a coach at Celtic, Leicester City and Tottenham, Davies has thrived in his first role in management with promotion never looking in doubt for his Blues side in his first season in charge at St Andrew's.

League One Apprentice of the Season - Jake Richards

Exeter City's Jake Richards was the recipient of the League One Apprentice of the Season gong at the 2025 EFL Awards.

The talented defensive midfielder has made 12 appearances for Exeter in League One with the Grecians sitting in mid-table in England's third tier.

League Two

League Two Player of the Season - Michael Cheek

Bromley striker Michael Cheek has been named League Two Player of the Season 23 goals and counting in his first-ever EFL campaign.

33-year-old Cheek has been able to cope with the step up to the EFL admirably after Bromley were promoted from the National League last summer, with the Ravens currently 11th in League Two.

League Two Young Player of the Season - Nathan Lowe

19-year-old striker Nathan Lowe was awarded the League Two Young Player of the Season prize after firing 15 goals in 22 matches on loan at Walsall from Stoke City.

Lowe was recalled by parent club Stoke in January which prompted a marked drop-off in form from Walsall in the second half of the season.

League Two Manager of the Season - Graham Alexander

Bradford City's Graham Alexander has been awarded the League Two Manager of the Season prize.

Former Scotland international Alexander has led the Bantams to the brink of promotion to League One which they have not participated in since 2019.

League Two Apprentice of the Season - Jack Shorrock

Port Vale's Jack Shorrock is the recipient of the League Two Apprentice of the Season award for 2025.

18-year-old Shorrock has made 16 appearances for Vale in League Two this term with Darren Moore's side achieving automatic promotion back to the third tier.

(4-4-2 diamond): Goodman, Barrett, Allen, Hall, Hume, Smallwood, Molyneux, Payne, McGoldrick, Jatta, Cheek.
