Fulham and West Ham United will meet in a Premier League London derby at Craven Cottage on Saturday with both teams chasing their second league wins of the campaign.
After narrowly being edged out by Manchester United in their league opener, Fulham have since taken four points from games against newly-promoted duo Leicester City and Ipswich Town, while also progressing in the EFL Cup.
West Ham are also going strong in the cup, but Julen Lopetegui has lost two of his three league matches since taking charge, although they did put up a competitive display against Manchester City before the international break.
Fulham to win - 6/4
It has been a solid if unspectacular start to the season for Fulham, but they will fancy their chances of making it two wins from two on home soil when they take on West Ham.
The Cottagers did the double over their London rivals last season, notably claiming a 5-0 success when they most recently locked horns at Craven Cottage in December.
Being strong at home has become a familiar theme for Marco Silva's side, as the only teams to have beaten them on their own patch since the turn of the year are Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Newcastle United - all sides that finished in the top seven last season.
Fulham have won their only home match so far this season - last month's 2-1 success against Leicester - and they will be hopeful of beating a West Ham side that lost six of their final eight away league fixtures in 2023/24, shipping at least two goals in all of those defeats.
The Hammers did win at another London club, Crystal Palace, in their only away match to date this term, but they may struggle to replicate that result against a Fulham team that more than had their measure last season.
While the hosts may not be able to match the emphatic nature of the victory they achieved in last season’s home fixture, they do look good odds-against value to pick up all three points.
Andreas Pereira to score or assist - 7/5
There were a number of standout performers for Fulham across their two meetings with West Ham last season, but perhaps the best of those was attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira.
The Brazil international was not quite front and centre in the 5-0 victory at Craven Cottage, although he did lay on an assist, but he was certainly the star of the show when the Cottagers won 2-0 at the London Stadium in April, grabbing both goals.
Pereira had 10 direct goal involvements in total in the Premier League during 2023/24 and nearly a third of those came against West Ham, an opponent he clearly likes as he also netted at the London Stadium in the previous campaign.
Although the former Manchester United ace is yet to get off the mark in terms of goals and assists this season, he has managed two shots and notably is one of Fulham's primary set-piece takers, whether that be from corners or free kicks.
That set-piece quality raises the possibility of Pereira having a direct involvement in a Fulham goal on Saturday and no one would be surprised given what he did to West Ham last season.
Sasa Lukic to be booked - 11/5
Fulham were dealt a blow over the summer as they lost key midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.
Palhinha had been a fundamental performer in the middle of the park for Fulham, although his combative nature did get him into trouble during his time at Craven Cottage, as he picked up 27 yellow cards in two Premier League seasons - no player received more over the same period, while he also committed 52 fouls in 2023/24 alone.
Tasked with filling the void left by Palhinha has been Sasa Lukic, who has started all three of Fulham's games in the Premier League this term and he has committed more fouls than any of his teammates.
Lukic picked up his first yellow card of the season against Ipswich in Fulham's last match, while he was also booked during the international break with Serbia in their UEFA Nations League defeat to Denmark.
The experienced former Torino midfielder is certainly no stranger to feeling the wrath of officials and in a London derby that is expected to be closely fought, he may end up in referee Tim Robinson’s notebook.
