Sunday’s early Premier League game sees Fulham play host to an Ipswich Town team that ended 2024 on a high and have renewed hope of avoiding relegation.
Liam Delap has been the star man for the Tractor Boys so far this season and the England Under-21 international holds the key to gaining another positive result on the road.
Liam Delap to score or assist - 9/4
There was a bit of surprise when Manchester City sold Delap last summer, with Ipswich taking a chance on a player who had shown plenty of promise.
It now looks like a very shrewd move by Kieran McKenna, with the striker offering real hope to the Ipswich fans that they can avoid an instant return to the Championship.
Delap shone again in their 2-0 home win over Chelsea on 30th December, scoring the opener from the spot before providing the assist for Omari Hutchinson’s strike.
The former Hull City and Preston North End loanee has already bagged seven goals and has two assists to his name this term.
One of those goals came in the reverse meeting with Fulham, when the two sides drew 1-1 at Portman Road back in August.
Ipswich’s survival hopes look to hinge on the form of Delap and of what we have seen so far, the 21-year-old is certainly up for the challenge.
Draw or Ipswich Double Chance - 13/10
Eight of Ipswich’s 15 points this season have come on the road, with wins at Tottenham and Wolves backed up by draws at Brighton and Southampton.
Confidence in the camp should be high after their victory over Chelsea and they will need another strong performance against Fulham.
The Cottagers are performing above expectations this term, currently sitting eighth with 29 points from 19 games.
Marco Silva’s men are just two points outside the top-six, but they have arguably been better on the road than at Craven Cottage in recent months.
Fulham have won just one of their last five on home soil, while Silva’s squad are unbeaten in their last five away games.
The west Londoners have drawn their last three matches at the Cottage – one of those was against title-contenders Arsenal, but they were also held by bottom club Southampton.
Only Brighton have drawn more games than Fulham this season and it is the one area that could hamper their push to qualify for Europe.
The Cottagers have suffered with defensive injury issues in the last couple of months, but the likes of Joachim Andersen and Calvin Bassey are now back to fitness.
Sander Berge is a key absentee though, with the former Burnley man ruled out until mid-January due to an ankle injury.
Over 4.5 cards in the match - 5/6
Heading into this weekend’s Premier League action, Fulham and Ipswich are both in the top five for most yellow cards received this season.
The visitors have picked up 48 cautions in their 19 matches to date, while the Cottagers have been given 46 yellows from the same amount of games.
Both sides are averaging around 2.50 yellows per game, so the over 4.5 cards target looks possible. There were also five handed out by Lewis Smith when the teams met at Portman Road in August.
Midfielder Sasa Lukic leads the Fulham cautions with seven so far, while Liam Delap and Sam Morsy have both collected six bookings for Ipswich.
