Fulham v Brighton: Tips, Predictions and Odds

Brighton will look to put their FA Cup exit at Wolves behind them when they travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday to face a Fulham side who made history last weekend.

Alex Iwobi’s 97th-minute winner saw the Cottagers beat Manchester United at Old Trafford for the first time since 2003, moving Marco Silva’s men within seven points of a European spot.

The Seagulls were denied an FA Cup quarter-final appearance thanks to Mario Lemina’s strike for Wolves, a result that also means that Brighton have just one win in four games in all competitions.

Fulham v Brighton betting tips and predictions

Draw @ 13/5

Historically, this fixture has usually been a tight affair, with three of the last five meetings ending in draws and the other two results decided by no more than one goal.

The reverse fixture at the AMEX also saw nothing to split the two sides, with goals from Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and Fulham’s Joao Palhinha cancelling each other out in a 1-1 draw.

The Cottagers’ home form has largely kept them away from the bottom three, with 22 of their 32 points in the league coming at Craven Cottage, but they have only won one of their last five here in all competitions, drawing two.

Meanwhile, Brighton have struggled for consistency throughout this campaign and have lost two of their last three on the road in the league, with their only win coming against rock-bottom Sheffield United who were down to ten men from the 13th minute onwards.

The Seagulls have injuries plaguing their squad with the likes of Solly March, Jack Hinshelwood and Joao Pedro out for Saturday’s game, whilst Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma is out for the season with a back issue.

Roberto De Zerbi may also favour naming a stronger side for their trip to Italian giants Roma in the Europa League next Thursday - the biggest game in the club’s fledgling European history - and so may not have the required cutting edge to take all three points from Fulham, although a share of the spoils will certainly be achievable.

Lewis Dunk to be booked @ 12/5

Three yellow cards were shown in the reverse fixture - all of them to the away side - and home dominance could mean that Brighton are under the cosh for the majority of the 90 minutes.

Both Brighton and Fulham rank in the top seven for bookings in the league this season, but with Fulham committing the second-least number of fouls, the statistics would suggest that the Seagulls are favourites to be on the wrong side of the law.

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk tops the club charts in this metric with six yellow cards, as well as one sending-off, and should be expected to get stuck into challenges to assert some dominance in the backline.

Simon Hooper - who will officiate Saturday’s match - is also not shy when it comes to dishing out punishment, showing 100 yellow cards across the 22 games he has refereed this season.

Rodrigo Muniz to score anytime @ 2/1

Many Fulham fans were concerned with where goals would come from after striker Raul Jimenez picked up a thigh injury earlier this year.

Armando Broja was brought in from Chelsea as a backup option, but young Brazilian Rodrigo Muniz has more than filled the void in the Mexican’s absence, scoring four goals in just seven starts for the London club.

These four strikes have come across his last four appearances for the Cottagers, and this purple patch of form could continue on Saturday, given that three of these goals have been scored in his previous two appearances at Craven Cottage.
