Wins have been proving elusive in League Two for both Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley of late and they'll each by eyeing up three points and a move towards mid-table on Monday night.
Between them, Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley have managed to win only two of the last 16 League Two games they have played, leaving them in 18th and 21st positions respectively.
Over 3.5 Goals – 2/1
Plenty of goals looks to be the most appealing play in this game, given both sides have struggled to win games in the league of late.
They've both suffered successive defeats, the hosts have won just one of their last nine games in all competitions while Accrington have won one of their last seven on league duty.
Fleetwood are odds-on to win this game but have only obliged with three points twice in nine attempts at Highbury this term. It's the same story for Accrington on the road, with two wins in nine attempts so far.
Goals have been less of a problem. Fleetwood's most recent reverses against Doncaster and Swindon have featured a combined 10 goals – of which they have contributed three.
John Doolan's Accrington side have scored seven times despite failing to win any of their last four league games, with 18 goals netted across that quartet of games.
When this pair last met in a League One clash at the Wham Stadium in April 2023, they served up seven goals, while the last three meetings at Highbury have yielded a combined 11 goals.
Draw or Accrington Stanley – 19/20
With the winning habit very much missing in action, the visitors make more appeal here in the double result market at a shade under evens.
In their last five league games on the road, Stanley have registered wins at Gillingham and Chesterfield and a draw at AFC Wimbledon, while they found the net in defeats at promotion hopefuls MK Dons and Grimsby.
All told, they have scored 11 times in their last six away and that should stand them in good stead to chase a positive outcome on Monday.
Fleetwood boss Charlie Adam has watched the early momentum dissipate for his side. The Cod Army were relegated from League One last season and, initially, they started well with just one loss in nine at this level.
It has become tougher since, and their recent record shows just a single league victory in the last nine going back to early October.
If Accrington are to stave off the threat of two relegations in three years, they know that picking up points on the road at places like Fleetwood will be crucial.
They currently have the lowest away points tally of all 24 League Two teams with just eight, but seven of those have come from the last 15 available and they may continue that trend by leaving with something.
Ronan Coughlan to score first – 5/1
Irish striker Ronan Coughlan is closing in on a year at Fleetwood. He signed in January off the back of an impressive season with Waterford United in the second tier of the League of Ireland in which he scored 37 times in all competitions.
He made 13 appearances in the second half of last season and scored twice, but Fleetwood went down.
He has eight goals so far this season, six in 12 in the league, and could end a run of three games without a goal by breaking the deadlock. He is likely to be on penalty duty as well, which further aids the cause for the 28-year-old.
