There are records on the line for both teams as high-flying Fiorentina welcome Serie A champions Inter Milan to the Stadio Artemio Franchi for a mouthwatering tussle.
La Viola have won seven successive league games and will bid for a club record of eight top-flight wins on the bounce, though the opposition could hardly be tougher.
After a slower than anticipated start to the defence of their crown, the Nerazzurri started the weekend one point behind leaders Napoli and unbeaten in their six games on the road so far.
They have been victorious in their last four visits to Florence and have a chance to become the first team in Serie A history to land five straight away wins over Fiorentina.
Draw - 5/2
Fiorentina are targeting eight successive top-flight wins for the first time and Inter have the chance to become the first side ever to inflict five straight Serie A reverses on La Viola on their own patch but, when all is said and done, they might both come up short.
Nothing separates this pair ahead of their Sunday evening showdown in Florence. After 13 games, they have 28 points each, courtesy of eight wins, four draws and a lone defeat. They also both have goal differences of +17.
Only Juventus and Napoli have conceded fewer goals than Fiorentina's 10 so far and in winning their last seven Serie A games, Raffaele Palladino's side have only been breached three times.
Taking in last season, Inter have suffered just three Serie A losses in 51 games and Simone Inzaghi's side have landed three wins to nil in their last four, with the other game being a 1-1 draw against leaders Napoli. Therefore a high-scoring contest seems improbable.
Entering this weekend the top five in Serie A were split by a single point in what has the makings of an engrossing title race and while they might not admit it, both Palladino and Inzaghi may be happy with a point here.
Lautaro Martinez to score first - 9/2
Top scorer in Italy's top-flight last season and again as he helped Argentina to Copa America glory in the summer, Lautaro Martinez has made a sluggish start this time around.
The 27-year-old failed to find the net in his first seven outings for club and country after the summer break, culminating in the Milan derby loss in late September.
He hit a brace the following week in a 3-2 win at Udinese and has netted seven more since, including a couple for Argentina against Paraguay and Bolivia in the November international break.
He then missed the 5-0 win over Verona, but got 76 minutes under his belt in the midweek UEFA Champions League win over RB Leipzig.
Martinez is a difference-maker, with four of his last five goals being game openers.
This is the sort of contest he should relish and he is value to break the deadlock in Florence given that he's inching back towards the form that saw him score 24 Serie A goals last season.
He has notched seven times in his last five appearances against Fiorentina.
Edoardo Bove to be booked - 10/3
Edoardo Bove signed an initial loan move to Fiorentina from Roma in August, with an option to buy next summer and the 22-year-old has made a bright start in Florence, capped by a goal against his parent club in a 5-1 win in late October.
He has collected three yellow cards in his first 11 starts for the club and was perhaps fortunate to escape a booking in the win at Como last weekend, given that his five tackles yielded four fouls.
He is typically a box-to-box midfielder and Bove is a hard worker, not afraid to stick his foot in and work on the counter press to win the ball back.
They are solid traits, but against Inter's cultured engine room, he might be prone to more fouls.
