Both Exeter City and Rotherham United suffered the disappointment of relegation from League One last season, but it is the Millers who have adjusted better to life back in the EFL basement.
The Yorkshire outfit head to St James Park having suffered one defeat in their last seven League Two matches and will look to build upon a 1-0 win at Northampton Town in their last away game when they face the Grecians on Saturday.
Their hosts are finding life tough having failed to win their last six league matches and not even scoring in their last four, so they could be in for another difficult season.
Best Bet - Rotherham United to win @ 13/8
Alternative Bet - Paul Mullin to score at any time @ 7/4
Bet Builder - Rotherham United to have most corners, Under three goals & HT - Draw @ 29/4
Best Bet: Rotherham United to win @ 13/8
Rotherham’s 4-0 win at St James Park was one of the few highlights of a League One season to forget last year, but Alex Bruce’s team look to have settled well and they can claim their third win of the season at Exeter on Saturday.
Bruce took over in the summer and looks to have settled in as the Millers have lost just one game in their last six, which was a 1-0 defeat to third-placed Bristol Rovers.
The story is a lot worse for Exeter, who have failed to win any of their last six games and their goalscoring issues have been highlighted by four straight League Two blanks.
That looks unlikely to improve against a team who look more comfortable at a lower level and the Yorkshire outfit can claim their second away win of the campaign.
Alternative Bet: Paul Mullin to score at any time @ 7/4
Paul Mullin was unable to play a prominent role for either Wigan Athletic or Bradford City last season, but a drop back down to League Two looks to have done him good and he is flourishing for the Millers.
Boosted by taking the captain’s armband, Mullin has been able to lead by example in Rotherham’s last three matches and he has netted in all of them.
He has had two shots on target in each of those outings and his confidence is sky high, so don’t be surprised if he manages to extend his scoring streak when he heads to St James Park on Saturday.
Rotherham United to have most corners
Under three goals
HT - Draw
Pays 29/4
Exeter have averaged five corners per home match this season, but there is a chance that the Millers will earn more when they make their trip to Devon.
The Yorkshire outfit are not far behind that number when they have been on the road and won the corner count in their away fixtures at Northampton Town and Tranmere Rovers, while they were only one behind on the flag-kick count when they visited Cheltenham Town on the opening day.
They are worth chancing in that market, while this looks like a game that is unlikely to catch fire.
With none of Exeter’s four home games to date featuring more than two goals and under 2.5 goals being a winning bet in six of the last eight meetings, don’t expect three or more this time.
Finally, while Rotherham look a decent bet to claim their third win of the season, it could take them a while to get going as they have led at the interval in just one of their eight league outings to date this term.
With the home side struggling for goals, the affair could be level at the interval.
