Both Everton and Wolves are seemingly set for a relegation battle with each having won just two of their opening 13 games in the Premier League.
The two sides go into what looks a crucial clash on Wednesday on the back of heavy defeats, with the Toffees having suffered a 4-0 mauling at Manchester United while Wolves were beaten 4-2 at home by Bournemouth.
Gary O'Neil's side are currently in the relegation zone, although only goal difference separates them from Ipswich below them in 19th and Crystal Palace above them in 17th, while Everton are just two points better off in 15th.
Draw - 12/5
Wolves and Everton are separated by just two points in the bottom half of the Premier League table and look like they may be set for a relegation scrap alongside the three promoted clubs.
Their issues have almost been the exact opposite however, the Toffees are the joint-lowest scorers in the division alongside Southampton, having netted just 10 goals, while Wolves have the leakiest defence in the top flight, having conceded 32.
Goals have been a major issue for this Everton team for some time but they have come to a head recently - they have been blanked in five of their last seven games and are goalless in their last four.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is underperforming his expected goals tally by the second-highest amount of any player in the league, scoring twice from an expected goals figure of 4.2.
The Toffees are suffering from a severe lack of creativity too, many of their summer signings such as Jesper Lindstrom, Tim Iroegbunam and Orel Mangala have struggled to make an impact.
Dwight McNeil is their top scorer with three goals and two of those came in one game against Crystal Palace.
To make matters worse the hosts have a nightmare run of games after this one, with their next four games seeing them take on rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
In fact Sean Dyche’s men face seven of the current top 10 in their next nine games, along with Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
That run makes this game a must-win affair for the home team and an expectant crowd could ramp up the pressure on the hosts.
Everton face a Wolves team that have dominated the recent head-to-head meetings between the two teams but have been leaking goals far too freely this term.
The visitors have conceded at least twice in 10 of their 13 league games and were beaten 4-2 by Bournemouth at the weekend.
They have been severely weakened by their summer transfer business as the departures of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto have had a massive impact.
Still it is hard to believe this team finished 20 points above the relegation zone last season, and they will be extremely fortunate to manage a gap anywhere near that big this time around.
In a match in which both teams will be desperate for three points, a stalemate that would suit neither side could be the unfortunate outcome.
With their clear weaknesses it is hard to fancy either of them for the win and they may end up cancelling each other out.
Matheus Cunha to score at any time - 5/2
In a season in which there have not been many things for Wolves fans to shout about so far, a clear positive has been the performances of Matheus Cunha.
The Brazilian has scored seven league goals and provided three assists and their league position would be even more dire if it weren’t for the efforts of the 25-year-old.
Side with Cunha to provide the spark in this clash and land on the scoresheet.
Joao Gomes to be shown a card - 21/10
Wolves have been one of the most carded teams in the top flight this season, picking up 36 yellows, with only Chelsea, Southampton and Ipswich having been given more.
The midfield could be the battle where this game is decided and expect Joao Gomes to do plenty of the dirty work for Wolves.
Only three players have committed more fouls in the Premier League than his 27 and he has picked up four cards as a result.
Take the 23-year-old to make it five for the season in this clash.
