Everton v Manchester United: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Everton boss David Moyes welcomes former club Manchester United to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday having overseen a dramatic turnaround in the Toffees' fortunes.

The Blues were staring over their shoulder at the relegation scrap when Moyes succeeded Sean Dyche last month, but a five-match unbeaten run has seen them leapfrog United into 14th and 13 points clear of the bottom three.

Everton v Manchester United betting tips and predictions

Draw - 11/5

Moyes would dearly love to pile more misery on his former club as Manchester United take the short hop across to Merseyside for their last-ever Premier League assignment at Goodison Park.

The Toffees leapfrogged United in the table last weekend, something that looked odds-against happening just a few weeks back.

But Moyes has transformed Everton, taking 13 points out of a last possible 15, and will have his eyes set on the sort of mid-table finish that never looked likely at the turn of the year.

Certainly they will fancy taking care of a United side who are within touching distance of a crisis as new boss Ruben Amorim struggles to fill the spots in his system that he simply will not budge away from.

Last week at Tottenham the Red Devils slumped to a 1-0 defeat, a second successive league loss having been beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace the week before.

They have won only two of their last nine in the league, although have won five of their last eight in all competitions with their best work being done in the UEFA Europa League.

Injuries are hindering Amorim though Moyes, too, will be missing a stack of his better players.

United like a Saturday lunchtime kick-off - they have won seven of their last nine in that slot, including a couple against Everton - and there were some encouraging signs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.

Firing off 16 attempts, six on target, is the sort of haul that normally goes rewarded. However, they are struggling to convince in front of goal at the moment and look ragged at the back.

Spurs took advantage of that, but it's questionable whether Everton will, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye missing. That leaves Beto to lead the line and while he does have four in four, he hasn't ever really convinced in the role.

Everton have only lost three at home since the end of August and the Goodison roar helped unsettle Liverpool recently so could well do likewise to United.

This will be passionate and tense and United have won their last six meetings. But with question marks over either side producing much of an end product the draw looks a fair play.

Both Teams to Receive 2+ Cards - 5/4

Everton and United are both averaging over two cards per game in the league, and both can sustain that level on Saturday.

There were five bookings shown earlier in the season when United beat Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford in December - two for Amorim's men, three for an Everton side under Dyche's stewardship at the time.

When match referee Andy Madley last took charge of a United game, it was the 1-1 draw at Arsenal in the FA Cup where he showed seven yellows and a red to Diogo Dalot.

The last time he took charge of Everton was in their 1-0 loss at Southampton where he booked six players, two for the visitors.

Andre Onana over 3.5 Saves - 13/8

Andre Onana made six saves in the 1-0 defeat at Tottenham last Sunday, a typical afternoon's work in the overly busy schedule for the United keeper.

Onana has never been quite as exposed as he is this season with 65 saves made in 25 matches.

Spurs broke through the United's defence at will last week and tested the Cameroon stopper far too easily.

While Everton might lack the dynamism of Spurs going forward, they possess tools of their own at set-plays, for example - where United are not the best - to ensure the visitors' keeper has another busy 90 minutes.
