Everton v Leicester City: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Two teams just outside of the Premier League relegation zone square up on Saturday as Everton welcome Leicester City to Goodison Park.

The Toffees are just one place ahead of the Foxes going into this weekend's matches, but they are six points clear with a game in hand.

Indeed, things are looking up for the Merseysiders under returning boss David Moyes and they should be in good spirits following last Saturday's 1-0 win on the road at Brighton.

However, Leicester also head into this contest off the back of an impressive road win of their own, having beaten Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday.

Everton to win - 4/5

There is reason for both of these sides to be in confident mood this weekend, but the hosts have arguably been the more impressive of the two lately.

David Moyes began his second spell at the club with a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, but has since seen his side beat Spurs and Brighton by single-goal margins to pull away from the Premier League danger zone.

Even before the arrival of the Scotsman, Everton recorded some eye-catching results in December, hammering Wolves 4-0 at Goodison Park and picking up points against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

A lack of quality in the final third ultimately cost former boss Sean Dyche his job, but Everton have looked much sharper going forwards recently, with Iliman Ndiaye netting in their last two matches.

City took a step forward under Ruud van Nistelrooy with last Sunday's win over Spurs, but that arguably said more about Tottenham, who were depleted by injuries and low on confidence.

Before that win, the Foxes had lost seven consecutive top-flight matches and they have not done well on their travels this campaign, losing seven of their 11 away assignments in the Premier League.

Everton are benefiting from the new-manager bounce of Moyes and are a decent price to record another key three points in the battle at the bottom.

Under 2.5 goals - 4/5

Everton have looked sharper and more innovative in attack following David Moyes' return, but they have always been pretty reliable at the back this season.

Although they did not play the most attractive football under Sean Dyche, they always looked tough to break down and only Liverpool and Nottingham Forest have bettered their tally of eight clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

As a consequence of that defensive resolve, their Premier League matches have averaged just 2.14 goals per game this season and this could again be a cagey encounter.

For punters reluctant to bet on the match result, under 2.5 goals makes an appeal at 4/5.

Iliman Ndiaye to score at anytime - 13/5

Iliman Ndiaye has taken time to get going in his debut season for Everton, but he is starting to look like the real deal on Merseyside.

The former Marseille forward is his team's top scorer in all competitions (7) and in the Premier League (5), despite having half as many shots as Dominic Calvert-Lewin this term (23 compared to 46).

He is clinical when presented with opportunities and he has thrived since the arrival of Moyes, scoring in the wins over Spurs and Brighton, while he was also on target in the FA Cup clash with Peterborough United earlier this month.

His confidence is high right now and he is worth backing to breach a visiting defence which has conceded 49 times in 23 league fixtures this term.
