After a difficult start to the new Premier League season, Everton will be hoping for some respite when they take on League Two Doncaster Rovers in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
The Toffees have lost their opening two league fixtures in convincing fashion against Brighton and Tottenham, shipping seven goals in the process without scoring.
Doncaster have won three of their opening four matches of the season, a run that includes a 2-0 victory at Salford in the first round of this competition.
This EFL Cup second round clash will be available to watch on Sky Sports+.
Everton vs Doncaster Rovers will kick-off at 19:45 on Tuesday 27th August, with the match being played at the Toffees' Goodison Park home.
Everton have never won the EFL Cup, but they have reached the quarter-finals in three of the last five seasons.
Doncaster have not made it beyond the second round of the EFL Cup since the 2017/18 season, although they have twice before made it as far as the quarter-finals, doing so in 1975/76 and again in 2005/06.
These two sides met at the same stage of last season's EFL Cup at Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium. Joe Ironside put the hosts in front that day, only for Beto and Arnaut Danjuma to turn things around for Everton.
