This round of Premier League matches ends with a key battle towards the bottom of the table as Everton look to claw their way out of the bottom three and drag Crystal Palace further into the fight for survival.

Everton v Crystal Palace betting tips and predictions

Everton to win @ 7/10

Both of these teams are desperate for points to ease their relegation fears and it is Everton, who are unbeaten in their last six games against Palace, who look more likely to get them.

The Toffees won 3-2 in the reverse league meeting in November and also saw their way past the Eagles in the FA Cup, needing a replay following a goalless draw in south London, so this could provide a valuable confidence boost.

That cup success has been the only game that Sean Dyche’s team have won in their last 11 as the early vigour that greeted their 10-point deduction looks to have disappeared.

But solace can perhaps be taken by the fact Palace have won just three of their last 17 games and conceded nine times in their last two away games against Arsenal and Brighton.

The Eagles, who will be without manager Roy Hodgson after he was taken ill in midweek, have struggled for creativity without the injured pair of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze and that does not bode well for their trip to Goodison.

While Everton’s results have been underwhelming and they are the third lowest goalscorers in the league, the two Manchester teams are the only sides to have beaten them in their last eight league games at their Merseyside base.

Newcastle and Chelsea have been beaten without scoring during that run and they showed plenty of fight to come from behind twice to earn a draw with Tottenham last week, which came after a goalless draw with another highflyer in Aston Villa. Everton can justify their favouritism on Monday night.

Jefferson Lerma over 0.5 shots on target @ 6/4

With Olise and Eke sidelined, someone in the Palace line-up is going to have to step up to the plate so they don’t get dragged into further trouble and midfielder Jefferson Lerma may just be the man.

The Colombian opened his account for the season with the Eagles' goal in last week’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea and that should increase his confidence to try his luck if the opportunity arises at Goodison.

Lerma may not be famed for his goalscoring exploits but he has had a total of five shots on target in his last seven league matches and created three chances for himself in their defeat to their London rivals.

Consequently, odds of 6/4 that he hits a goalbound effort that troubles Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford should not be sniffed at as they could represent some decent value.

Idriss Gueye to be booked @ 3/1

There is plenty at stake in Monday’s game and that should mean that we are treated to an intense fixture in the final clash of the Premier League weekend.

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is back from the Africa Cup of Nations where he was representing Senegal and he was soon back to his combative ways last week when he picked up his seventh yellow card of the season in the 2-0 defeat at treble winners Manchester City.

He adds some steel to the Toffees’ efforts to control the middle of the park but sometimes his enthusiasm gets the better of him.

Gueye has gone into the book in six of his last nine appearances for Dyche’s side and he has committed at least one foul in 13 of his 15 league outings for the Toffees this term.

In both of those two when he didn’t, he failed to complete more than 45 minutes of action, so with there bound to be plenty of tension surrounding Monday’s Goodison clash, odds of 3/1 about him receiving another caution look too good to turn down.
