Everton v Chelsea: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Chelsea will be aiming to record a ninth successive victory in all competitions when they head to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are enjoying an excellent season under Enzo Maresca and a win on Merseyside would see them climb to the summit of the Premier League, although Liverpool would have the chance to return to top spot away at Tottenham Hotspur later in the day.

Everton are still nervously looking over their shoulders having picked up just one win from their last seven assignments, but they did hold Arsenal 0-0 at the Emirates last time out and will be hoping a return to Goodison can help them to a much-needed three points.

Everton v Chelsea betting tips and predictions

Chelsea to win and both teams to score - 11/5

Chelsea's 5-1 thrashing of Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday extended their winning streak in all competitions to eight matches, a run that has seen them plunder 26 goals.

The Blues have been irresistible in attack in both the Premier League and the UEFA Conference League, as they lead the scoring charts in both competitions with 37 and 26 goals respectively.

Maresca has an embarrassment of riches to choose from in the attacking department, with the likes of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and more.

It has been a different story in defence, though, with Chelsea failing to keep a clean sheet in their last five fixtures and seeing their goal breached in three of their last four home matches.

Injury issues and a suspension for Marc Cucurella mean that Maresca will have to tweak his backline again for this Merseyside trip and that should give Everton, who have been lacking in the final third, hope they can get on the scoresheet.

The Toffees have scored just 14 times in the league, leaving only Southampton (11) below them in that department, but nine of those have come at Goodison Park including four in the thrashing of Wolves in their last home outing.

Everton have netted in six of their nine home fixtures in all competitions and they can find the back of the net again, albeit in a losing cause.

Cole Palmer anytime goalscorer - 13/10

As previously mentioned, Chelsea have a plethora of attacking talent to choose from and the standout player has undoubtedly been England international Palmer, who has 11 top-flight goals this season.

The 22-year-old, who wasn't named in the UEFA Conference League squad for the League Phase, has netted four times in his last four appearances and he will be relishing the chance to go up against the Toffees.

Palmer finished with four goals the last time these two met in April at Stamford Bridge, registering a 16-minute first-half hat-trick, before adding a fourth from the penalty spot after the break in the 6-0 victory.

He is already halfway to his league tally of 22 from last season and the Englishman will fancy his chances of hitting the back of the net at least once on Sunday.

Moises Caicedo to be booked - 3/1

Chelsea haven't been afraid to get stuck in and they lead the yellow card charts in the league heading into this weekend's fixture, having racked up 50 from 16 matches at an average of 2.94 per game.

The Blues, who have also received one red, are taking no prisoners in their pursuit of domestic glory and there looks to be a strong chance that amount of 50 will be added to on Sunday.

One player who could go in the book is midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has received three cautions from 16 top-flight appearances and was last booked in the win over Leicester City on 23rd November.

While the 23-year-old has avoided a booking in his last four outings, he has been walking a tightrope with his foul count from those matches reading two, two, three and two.

Caicedo has managed to go a league game without committing a foul just once this term and his luck with the officials may run out at Goodison Park.
