Euros: Group B odds, tips, predictions, teams and fixtures

Featuring three nations that made the knockout stage at the last European Championship, Group B looks like one of the most competitive sections at Euro 2024.

Battling it out for spots in the knockout stages will be defending champions Italy, Nations League holders Spain, World Cup 2022 semi-finalists Croatia and minnows Albania.

La Roja are favourites to top the section at 4/5 but there will be no room for complacency from Luis de la Fuente's side.

Euro 2024 Group B betting tips and predictions

Spain to win Group B - 4/5

A three-way tussle for top spot is expected in Group B with Spain, Italy and Croatia having all enjoyed recent success in major tournaments.

Of the three, though, Spain look the most put-together and have made progress under the stewardship of Luis de la Fuente.

Spain came close to making the final at Euro 2020, losing on penalties to Italy in the semi-finals but they can draw confidence from the fact they have won three of their last four meetings with the Azzurri.

Following that semi-final exit, they went on to win their first Nations League title last June, beating Croatia on penalties in the final in Rotterdam after seeing off Italy in the final four.

Having beaten their group rivals on a pretty big stage so recently will do Spain the world of good, and they have a talented core of players.

Winning international tournaments is often about grinding out results, and Spain have the players to do exactly that with Manchester City star Rodri the heartbeat of the team.

Pedri, who was named Best Young Player at Euro 2020, is set to miss Euro 2024 through injury but Spain have a number of youngsters who can rise to the occasion, including emerging Barca talents, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi.

Alvaro Morata, meanwhile, has enjoyed a great season with Atletico Madrid and should be more composed in front of goal for La Roja than three years ago.

Group Forecast - 1st Spain, 2nd Italy - 12/5

For those who fancy Spain to top the group, a forecast featuring them in first and Italy in second could make an appeal at 12/5.

Spain are the strongest side on paper in the group and, although Italy's failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup was alarming, they are also making progress under Luciano Spalletti.

Their third-placed finish at the most recent Nations League is not to be sniffed at and a number of their players have their best years ahead of them with Alessandro Bastoni, Destiny Odogie and Mateo Retegui all worth keeping an eye on.

The same cannot be said for Croatia, who have been reliant on the same crop of players for a number of years.

Influential Luka Modric has had limited game time with Real Madrid this season, while Andrey Kramaric and Bruno Petkovic are not very inspiring attacking options.

They had to settle for second spot behind Turkey in their Euro 2024 qualifying section and Italy should pip them to the runners-up position in Group B.

Euro 2024 Group B route to the final

The winners of Group B could take on a number of sides in the last 16 with their opening knockout fixture set to be against a third-placed team from any of Groups A, D, E or F.

Potentially tricky opponents from that batch include Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Turkey.

If the sectional winners were to prevail in the last 16, they would take on the winners of the battle between Group A's victors and the runners-up in Group C, meaning a potential quarter-final with tournament hosts Germany, Denmark or even England.

As for the runners-up in Group B, they will head to Berlin in the last 16 in which they will face the runners-up in Group A, which is made up of Germany, Switzerland, Scotland and Hungary.

Their subsequent quarter-final would take place in Dusseldorf, with England again a potential opponent.
