Each Premier League club’s record transfer export

Huge fees are bandied about in every transfer window, but the record fees some Premier League have received go back quite some years.

Here is the most each top-flight has received as the result of one transfer.

Premier League

Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - £32m

The England midfielder made the move to Anfield in 2017, but his Anfield career was beset with injury problems and he joined Turkish club Besiktas when his contract expired in 2023

Aston Villa

Jack Grealish - £100m

Home talent Jack Grealish left his boyhood club for Manchester City in 2021 where he became part of the Citizen’s treble-winning team, but he has struggled to make a big impression for Pep Guardiola’s side lately.

Bournemouth

Dominic Solanke - £54m

Dominic Solanke scored 19 goals for Bournemouth in 2023/24 before Tottenham made the centre forward their marquee signing last summer.

Brentford

Ivan Toney - £35.3m

Striker Ivan Toney was one of the success stories at Brentford having forced his way into the England squad despite being handed a lengthy suspension, but the Bees accepted a hefty offer from Saudi Pro League Al-Ahli at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Brighton

Moise Caicedo - £97.6m

Brighton have done brilliantly in developing talent and helping them to adjust to the English game before moving on for big money and the biggest fee they received was from Chelsea for midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has become an integral part of Enzo Maresca’s side.

Chelsea

Eden Hazard - £101m

Eden Hazard won two Premier League titles in seven seasons at Chelsea in which he scored 110 goals, but the skillful Belgian playmaker was unable to hit the same heights following his big-money move to Real Madrid.

Crystal Palace

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - £46.3m

Crystal Palace have had a great production line in recent years and they got their biggest fee from Manchester United for full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who made his move to Old Trafford in 2019.

Everton

Romelu Lukaku - £71m

Romelu Lukaku had failed to catch light at Chelsea before he was signed by Everton for a club record £28m in 2013, but he scored more than a goal every other game for the Toffees before moving to Manchester United in 2017, where he continued to terrorise Premier League defences.

Fulham

Aleksandar Mitrovic - £44m

Serbian striker Aleksandar Mtirovic was a big Craven Cottage hero whose 43 goals helped Fulham storm to the Championship title in 2022. He headed to Saudi Pro League Al-Hilal in 2023.

Ipswich Town

Connor Wickham - £12m

Connor Wickham was a teenager in high demand when he joined Sunderland in 2011, however the path to stardom proved a rocky one and he failed to make a huge impression and was last seen in League One at Charlton Athletic at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Leicester City

Harry Maguire - £80m

Harry Maguire’s emergence as a key performer in Gareth Southgate’s England side that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup meant it would not be long until the former Hull City man got a big-money move from the King Power Stadium, and that came true when he joined Manchester United the following year.

Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho - £113.5m

There were fears that Liverpool would struggle after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in 2017, but it turned into a key moment in Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield tenure as they went on to Champions League and Premier League success, while the player didn’t shine as brightly at Camp Nou.

Manchester City

Julian Alvarez - £63m

It is difficult for all the superstars to fit in to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City starting line-up, which was a frustration for Argentinian forward Julian Alvarez, who often had to play second fiddle to Erling Haaland, but he got a big move to Atletico Madrid at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo - £79m

Rumours of an impending move for Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid dominated the back pages during the 2008/09 season and the worst kept secret in football became public knowledge when the Portuguese superstar joined the Spanish giants for a world-record fee the following summer.

Newcastle United

Elliot Anderson - £34.6m

Elliot Anderson had been at the Newcastle academy since the age of eight and went a long way towards helping to fund the next generation of Magpies starlets after Nottingham Forest acquired his services at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Nottingham Forest

Brennan Johnson - £46m

Nottingham Forest are fiercely proud of their academy set-up and the hard work reaped rewards for the club when one of their own, Brennan Johnson, son of former Tricky Trees centre forward David, got a big-money move to Tottenham in 2023/24, just like former products Andy Reid and Michael Dawson.

Southampton

Virgil van Dijk - £71m

Liverpool spent some of the Coutinho transfer money before the Brazilian completed his move to Barcelona when they signed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in the winter window of 2017/18. He went on to be one of the Reds’ best centre halves.

Tottenham Hotspur

Gareth Bale - £85m

Gareth Bale’s transformation from an average left-back to the most dangerous wideman in European football earned him a huge move to Real Madrid, where he won three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.

West Ham United

Declan Rice - £98m

Having failed to make the grade at Chelsea, Declan Rice became an automatic choice in the England midfield under Gareth Southgate and helped West Ham to their first trophy for 43 years when they won the Europa Conference League in 2023, just before his move to Arsenal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Matheus Nunes - £53m

Wolves fans got to see just one season from Portuguese midfielder Matheus Nunes after signing him for a record fee from Sporting Lisbon, but they still managed to negotiate a £15m profit when he joined Manchester City at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
