Newly-promoted Dundee United have passed their early-season tests with flying colours but now comes their first major challenge with a visit from Rangers.
Jim Goodwin's side have added two wins to two draws to sit on eight points, one clear of Rangers, who were thrashed 3-0 at Celtic in their last match before the international break.
Dundee United to win - 11/2
Rangers did the treble over Dundee United the last time they met over the course of a Premiership season, but Jim Goodwin's Tangerines look outstanding value to turn the tables on the Old Firm powers this weekend.
Priced at 11/2, that looks big enough when you consider how well United have started the season.
And it looks bigger still given the inconsistency in the Rangers' camp, with boss Philippe Clement threatening to wield the axe after their humbling at Parkhead before the break.
It was back in 2022/23 when the Gers beat United three times in a season which ended with the Terrors going down.
Promoted after one season in the second tier, United are on a nine-game unbeaten run as they prepare to welcome Rangers.
In the league they drew 2-2 with Dundee and then 1-1 at Ross County. And after pipping St Mirren in the first knockout round of the League Cup they have chalked up a 2-0 win over St Johnstone and a 1-0 success at Hearts.
And while Hearts are struggling, it was that result that hints United are a competitive entity and quite capable of testing Rangers if they can keep their momentum going.
Rangers drew at Hearts 0-0 in their opener before beating Motherwell 2-1 and Ross County 6-0 in and amongst a UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Dynamo Kyiv.
And then came the 3-0 dismantling by Celtic, the kind of result that suggests the title battle is already a one-horse race and the type of outcome that will give heart to a side like Dundee United.
If the formbook stands up and Cyril Dessers, Vaclav Cerny, likely debutant Nedim Bajrami and others have their shooting boots on, the Gers could well win this easily. But there's a fragile look about them and that, coupled with the generous price about the hosts, encourages a bet on United at 11/2.
Will Ferry to be booked - 3/1
Will Ferry could be a big player for United at Tannadice.
The former Southampton youngster, a summer purchase from Cheltenham Town, has had a fine start to the season, helping his new side into the quarter-finals of the League Cup and third place in the Premiership.
Going forward he carries a threat and with the Gers looking vulnerable down their right-hand side, the Irishman can further enhance his reputation and worry whoever Philippe Clement fields at full-back.
As well as that, however, Ferry is also a real contender to pick up a caution.
Only Hearts and St Mirren have picked up more Premiership bookings than the Tangerines this term, with Ferry collecting two of his side's 10. He was also booked in the 1-0 win against the Buddies in the League Cup.
Ferry, booked 10 times in all competitions last term, is an appealing 3/1 to be cautioned at Tannadice.
Dundee United +3 Corner Handicap - 10/11
There is nothing remarkable about Rangers' corner counts so far. They chalked up seven in their first game at Hearts, six in the 2-1 win over Motherwell, five in the dismantling of Ross County and four at Celtic.
An average of 6.2 per game certainly encourages a bet on Dundee United on the corner handicap with a three-corner start.
It's a three-way handicap with the tie a runner but the hosts at 10/11 look the bet.
