Since losing 2-0 at Falkirk in their opening League Cup group game, Jim Goodwin's Dundee United have sprung together a nine-game unbeaten run.

In the league they picked up draws against Dundee and Ross County before producing back-to-back wins, 2-0 against St Johnstone and most recently 1-0 at Hearts.

Fourth-placed Rangers were thumped 3-0 at Celtic last time out and have also dropped points against Hearts in a season-opening 0-0 draw.

Goalkeeper Jack Butland came in for criticism after the Old Firm defeat but is expected to keep his place. Defenders James Tavernier and Robin Propper could be axed while forward Rabbi Matondo is injured.

Dujon Sterling may replace Tavernier at right-back with Neraysho Kasanwirjo poised for his debut alongside John Souttar at the heart of the defence.

Cyril Dessers is set to lead the line with Danilo still struggling, while Albanian international Nedim Bajrami should replace Matondo after arriving from Sassuolo.
