Championship leaders Leeds United will be aiming to improve their modest away record when they travel to Derby County on Sunday.
Leeds United to win to nil @ 6/4
Leeds claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Derby at Elland Road earlier this month and the Championship leaders are expected to complete a league double against the Rams this weekend.
Punters may have reservations over backing the Whites at short odds given their patchy away form and Derby's solid record on their own patch.
Leeds have won only four of their 11 road fixtures this term, while the Rams have picked up six of their seven league victories at Pride Park.
The hosts should be confident after beating Portsmouth 4-0 and West Brom 2-1 in their last two home games, but their forwards may be kept quiet by a solid Leeds defence.
Daniel Farke's men had 18 shots to Derby's three in their Elland Road clash and they have a superb defensive record against bottom-half clubs, restricting Stoke City to just three attempts at goal on Boxing Day.
Leeds have won nine of their 12 matches against sides starting this round of fixtures in 13th or below and hosts Derby are 14th in the standings.
Five of those victories were by a 2-0 margin, another three by a 3-0 scoreline and Farke's side beat Oxford 4-0 last weekend.
Joel Piroe first goalscorer @ 5/1
Defenders Joe Rodon and Maximilian Wober scored for Leeds in this month's home win over Derby, while striker Joel Piroe was denied by an excellent save from Rams goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom.
Seven of Piroe's first eight appearances this season came as a substitute, but he has played a more significant role for the title contenders recently.
He had four shots in this month's draw at Preston North End and three in the rout of Oxford United, before scoring with two of his four attempts in the Boxing Day win at Stoke.
That brace took Piroe's Championship tally for the season to nine goals in 1,242 minutes and he is well worth a bet to be first goalscorer at Pride Park.
The Dutchman is a classy finisher at Championship level, scoring 15 times in the league last term, and his 41 goals in two campaigns at Swansea City included a brace against Derby in April 2022.
Callum Elder to be booked @ 7/2
Stoke received four yellow cards in their Boxing Day defeat to Leeds and Derby left-back Callum Elder looks a nice price to be booked on Sunday.
Elder has picked up six cautions in just 12 starts and three substitute appearances in this season's Championship campaign and he may face an awkward 90 minutes against the league leaders.
He is likely to be up against pacey Leeds winger Daniel James and Jayden Bogle could also cause problems for his fellow full-back.
Bogle loves to get forward from right-back, finishing off a slick move to score his third goal of the season against Oxford last weekend, and Elder may well get his third caution in his last five home games.
