Denmark v England Prediction, Tips and Odds: Bellingham 13/2 to score first in Frankfurt

England are aiming to be crowned European champions for the first time and are off to a solid enough start thanks to their 1-0 success over Serbia.

Denmark famously got their hands on the trophy at Euro 1992 but they are under early pressure after being held to a 1-1 draw by Slovenia.

A tight encounter is predicted by Dan Childs, who has picked out his three best bets for the Frankfurt fixture.

England are 13/20 to secure the victory while the draw is 13/5 and a Denmark success is a 5/1 chance.

Dan Childs' Denmark v England tips and predictions

England and under 2.5 goals - 12/5

England were happy to secure a solid, unspectacular victory over Serbia and there could be more of the same when Gareth Southgate’s side tackles Denmark in Frankfurt.

After taking an early lead against Serbia and briefly threatening to run riot, England settled into a more familiar pattern of patience as they focused on hanging on to their advantage.

The Three Lions’ performance left a lot of their fans yearning for more, but maximum points was the only concern for their manager, who might only have one last chance to land a major piece of silverware for his country.

For the most part England defended better than they attacked with John Stones and Marc Guehi forging an effective partnership.

They will be targeting another clean sheet and could get it against the Danes, who are under immediate pressure after their 1-1 draw against Slovenia.

Denmark were surprise semi-finalists at Euro 2020 but they picked up only one point at the 2022 World Cup and, on the evidence of Sunday, they appear unlikely to contend this summer.

Getting out of the group would be Denmark’s first target but they may suffer a low-scoring loss to England, who look an attractive 12/5 wager to win a contest with under 2.5 goals.

Jude Bellingham to score the first goal - 13/2

It was no great surprise to see Jude Bellingham play the starring role against Serbia and there is every chance of the 20-year-old delivering a match-winning moment against the Danes.

Bellingham is a team player, who is not frightened to step up and take extra responsibility when his team needs it.

His header against Serbia was brave and technically superb and it is unlikely to be his last goalscoring contribution of the tournament.

Bellingham bagged 19 La Liga goals in his first season with Real Madrid, and his scoring ratio for England - currently one every 7.5 games - is almost certain to improve.

Denmark will be aware of his threat but they could be powerless to stop England’s dynamic number 10, who looks an overpriced 13/2 shot to break the deadlock.

Morten Hjulmand to be booked - 3/1

The midfield battle could have a key impact on the outcome and Denmark’s duo of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Morten Hjulmand may struggle to come out on top.

Hojbjerg was short of game time for Tottenham last season and his lack of sharpness showed in Sunday’s match with Slovenia which the Danes failed to dominate as they might have expected.

Hjulmand also struggled to make his mark on the game and had to walk a disciplinary tightrope after being booked for a shirt pull on Slovenia’s star man Benjamin Sesko.

The 24-year-old goes into the England game knowing that another caution would trigger a suspension but he may struggle to keep his composure.

The Sporting Lisbon player was carded in five of his last seven games of the domestic season and looks a prime candidate to enter the notebook of Portuguese referee Artur Soares Dias.
