Crystal Palace have been knocked out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage in each of the last two seasons and will see a home tie against League One Stockport County as the ideal opportunity to put that situation right.
However, the Hatters look capable of playing their part in an entertaining Selhurst Park encounter on Sunday.
Both teams to score - 4/5
Palace look to have recovered from their poor start to the campaign, when they won just one of their opening 13 games and head into theis FA Cup clash with Stockport having lost one of their last nine in the Premier League.
Oliver Glasner’s team are five points clear of the relegation zone and looking positively at the second half of the campaign after last week’s 1-1 home draw with Chelsea, but this could be another game where both teams manage to find the net.
While the Eagles are the fourth-lowest scoring team in the top-flight with just 21 goals in their 20 games and they have scored more than once in just two of their last nine matches at Selhurst Park, both teams have netted in each of their last five games.
Stockport, who are on the edge of the third-tier play-off chase, have posted away wins in two of their last 11 games - which came at Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town, both of whom started the new year in the bottom three.
However, both teams have scored in six of their last seven games and they have failed to score in just two of their 13 league and cup away matches this season, so don’t be surprised if the Hatters make their mark.
Eddie Nketiah to score at any time - 11/10
It would not be a huge surprise if Eagles boss Oliver Glasner shuffled his pack for this FA Cup clash and one player who could benefit from that is forward Eddie Nketiah.
He has not started a game for Palace since their 2-2 draw with Wolves in early November, although he has made eight substitute appearances since then, scoring in a 3-2 EFL Cup defeat at his former club Arsenal a week before Christmas.
Nketiah was also on the mark in an earlier round when the Eagles won 2-1 at QPR and he should be hungry to prove himself as his career has not really taken off since his summer move from the Emirates, where first-team opportunities were hard to come by.
Under 6.5 Crystal Palace corners - 5/6
There looks a decent chance that Palace may not be able to claim more than six corners.
The standard of opposition has to be taken into account, but the Eagles have generated an average of just five from their 11 home league games this season.
Glasner’s side have played two games against lower-division opposition in the EFL Cup this season and flag-kicks were thin on the ground.
They earned two against QPR and only mustered four despite beating Norwich City 4-0 at home in the next round, so it is worth chancing that they won’t generate a large number against the Hatters.
