Crystal Palace are much improved under Oliver Glasner and could be the latest side to impact Manchester United's European ambitions when the pair meet on Monday.
The Eagles have won three of their last four to move up to 14th and allay any previous relegation fears. With Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze back fit, their brand of attacking football is quickly becoming the envy of the teams both above and around them.
A knee issue meant Eze was rested as a precaution for last weekend's 1-1 at Fulham but Glasner expects him to come back in and he and Olise, both of whom have been linked with the Red Devils, could put on a show against a visiting defence lacking confidence.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in five but their listless performances have prompted further doubts over Ten Hag's future.
A win on Monday would move them into the top six, but equally, their unpredictable form opens up the possibility of more pressure being piled on the Dutchman under the Selhurst Park lights.
Crystal Palace to win and both teams to score @ 11/4
Glasner has reinvigorated Palace but Roy Hodgson's fans may point to the former England man getting similar performances from the same players once the pitches started to firm up and other sides began to slack off in 2022/23.
Before drawing at Fulham, the Eagles' pace and enthusiasm inspired them to wins over Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle.
They were the better side at Craven Cottage and United's ponderous nature in possession makes them almost the ideal opponents for the Eagles to sit deep and then spring into action with their lightning quick attacking transitions.
The news that Eze is set to feature, and potentially Marc Guehi, adds extra pace and dynamism at both ends for Palace, attributes United increasingly appear to lack.
The Red Devils at least score goals, doing so in their last 21 in all competitions so should be good for one at Selhurst Park. However, they also concede a lot, with their 77 against in 47 league and cup games the most since 1977/78.
Ten Hag's side were upset by Burnley's pace and rhythm during last Saturday's 1-1 draw. Palace's superiority to the Clarets hints that the Eagles can hurt United's European hopes by grabbing a superb win and condemning the visitors to a club record 13th Premier League defeat of the season.
Jean-Philippe Mateta anytime goalscorer @ 15/8
One of Glasner's masterstrokes has been quickly assessing his strike options against his criteria and then placing his faith in Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The Frenchman has been vying for the role with Odsonne Edouard and Jordan Ayew in recent years but the Austrian obviously sees him as the right man to lead the line and seems to know how to handle the former Mainz player.
Mateta has netted eight goals in 10 appearances under Glasner, including seven in his five home games, and can expose a fragile United defence who have conceded 26 times on the road.
With 11 Premier League goals already this season and Eze and Olise finding his runs, he could take his tally to a dozen or more on Monday.
Casemiro to be booked @ 15/8
Whether in midfield or at centre-half, recent weeks have not been kind to Casemiro and his dearth of pace is increasingly being exposed.
In his defence, United's lack of cohesion means the Brazilian often has to cover his colleagues and he has been booked nine times in all competitions.
Casemiro's first caution of the campaign came in the reverse fixture and he was also booked in against these opponents last season before later being sent off in the pair's meeting at Old Trafford, albeit controversially.
Palace's best play comes on the break, and the 32-year-old is a card candidate due to the likelihood of him needing to make tactical fouls regardless of what position he starts in.
