Croatia v Albania Prediction, Tips and Odds: Croatia to get back on track

Spain put Croatia to the sword in their opening game of the Euros, but the Croats can kick-start their campaign on German soil against Albania.

These sides clash at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg on Wednesday afternoon, with both looking to bounce back from opening defeats in what is a formidable Group B.

Albania did give reigning European champions Italy a scare in their opening game by scoring in just the 23rd second of the game.

The Azzurri’s quality shone through though and quickfire goals before the 16th minute saw Italy hold on for the win.

Albania’s performance will have certainly made Croatia sit up and take notice, so don’t expect Zlatko Dalic’s side to take anything for granted in Hamburg for this one.

Croatia v Albania betting tips and predictions

Croatia to win to nil - 6/5

While Croatia came off second best against an impressive Spain side 3-0, they have not become a bad team overnight.

This Croatia side have made a habit of going under the radar at previous major tournaments, most notably when reaching the 2018 World Cup final, only to lose out to France.

The Croats actually had a decent defensive record before that heavy defeat at the hands of La Roja, keeping four clean sheets in their previous six games.

With that in mind, the value looks good for Croatia to win to nil against the Albanians in Hamburg.

Albania did cause Italy problems, but their goal was gifted to them from a sloppy throw-in by the Azzurri.

Croatia will know that mistakes can be punished by the Albanians and Dalic will be hoping his side can get back the defensive form that made them a tough nut to crack in the lead up to this major tournament.

With all that in mind, the 6/5 on offer for Croatia to win to nil is a viable option here.

Andrej Kramaric to score anytime - 7/4

The leading goalscorer for Croatia in qualifying, Andrej Kramaric is certainly worth considering to find the back of the net in this one.

Already scoring 28 goals for his country, Kramaric has impressed at this level and is edging closer to making 100 appearances for Croatia.

Currently on 94 caps going into game on Wednesday, the 32-year-old will be eager to add to his tally for his country.

Scoring 15 goals was a solid return for Kramaric in the Bundesliga last season, with only Maximilian Beier scoring more for Hoffenheim during the league campaign.

With odds of 7/4 available for Kramaric to find the back of the net, the forward from Zagreb looks like a good option to consider.

Mario Mitaj to be booked - 2/1

No Albanian player was booked more times than Mario Mitaj in their qualifying campaign ahead of this European Championship in Germany.

Playing at left-back, Mitaj was forced to deal with Federico Chiesa in the opening game against Italy and managed to avoid a caution in that opening game.

That might give Mitaj more leeway to be slightly more aggressive in his approach against Croatia’s Lovro Majer, who he is likely to come up against in Hamburg.

The Wolfsburg attacking midfielder has the ability to draw in fouls and it would be no surprise to see Mitaj add to his collection of bookings at international level.
